INDIA – Fortis Healthcare has joined forces with RED.Health, India’s Largest Emergency Response Company, on emergency ambulance deployment to reduce response times in the country.
The flag-off ceremony of the ambulances was officiated by Prabhdeep Singh, Founder & Chief Executive Officer of RED.Health, and Anil Vinayak, Group Chief Operating Officer of Fortis Healthcare.
The flag-off event also drew the participation of a cadre of industry stalwarts from both Fortis Healthcare and RED.Health.
The scope of this agreement spans across seven hospitals operated by Fortis Healthcare in the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi and neighboring areas.
Leveraging the capabilities of RED.Health’s emergency response network, Fortis Healthcare will deploy ambulances reporting to emergency situations at short notice.
RED.Health will deploy 10 dedicated GPS-enabled Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances to medical emergencies in various settings as part of this agreement.
In his address, Prabhdeep Singh, Founder & CEO of RED.Health, said: “Our responsible and trained team of emergency responders are fully prepared to showcase our life-saving capabilities and surpass expectations, making a significant impact of saving lives across the city.”
With this partnership, patients in need will be able to reach the selected Fortis Hospitals that specialize in all types of Emergency Medicine treatments within minutes.
The estimated time of ambulance allocation will be an average of 2 – 5 minutes post the distress call while the ambulance is expected to reach patients in emergency situations within 10 -30 minutes.
This deal comes as RED.Health recently launched its four business verticals including RED Ambulances which features RED Air Guardian, RED Assist, RED Priority Clinics, and RED Academy.
The company plans to establish a technology center, RED Edge, with an aim to strengthen its existing technical support.
RED.Health continues to explore market opportunities and invest in new product development for all the new business verticals.
As part of the new deal, RED.Health will also support patient logistics with an independent fleet of more than 30 vehicles in the National Capital Region to the selected branches of Fortis Hospitals.
A concierge will also be available at each hospital for better coordination between the patient and the ambulance.
On his part, Anil Vinayak, Group COO of Fortis Healthcare said: “Ambulances can be booked at the Fortis Centralised Ambulance Service Nos 9009001050. The service number is already live and we have started catering to patients.”
The deployment strategy will ensure ambulances reach patients within an approximate time period of 10 to 30 minutes across Delhi/NCR.
“Whether it is an accident, a heart attack, a stroke, or any other emergency. Timely medical care within the golden hour is critical to saving lives. This collaboration will go a long way in filling the lacunae in timely emergency care across Delhi/NCR,” underscored Anil Vinayak.
In another development, Kauvery Hospitals is set to take over the day-to-day business operations of Fortis Hospital, Vadapalani from Fortis Healthcare in a deal worth Rs. 152 crores (US$18.5 million).
Fortis Healthcare will pursue further growth in India in line with the company’s ongoing portfolio rationalization strategy to deepen its presence in select geographic clusters.
