FUJIFILM India Installs CAD EYE AI system at Astha Hospital to drive diagnostic confidence

INDIA – FUJIFILM India has supplied and installed a new state-of-the-art CAD EYE Artificial Intelligence (AI) system at Astha Hospital in Dehradun, the Capital of Uttarakhand.

Improving the detection rate of difficult-to-discover lesions has been one of the major challenges within the field of endoscopy in recent years.

The CAD EYE Artificial Intelligence system is an empowering tool for gastroenterologists in early detection and characterization of any abnormal growth during gastro endoscopy procedures,” the company announced in a release.

FUJIFILM India announced that the AI-driven system for real-time colon polyp detection and characterisation has 2 modes, namely LCI (Linked color image) and BLI (Blue Light Image).

The LCI mode utilizes a combination of light settings to visually enhance any abnormal lesion and inflammation.

The medical imaging technology company pointed out that the BLI mode magnifies, and color characterizes the detected growth into cancerous and non-cancerous cells.

Both image processing technologies utilize specific wavelengths of light to help the practitioner to take the accurate biopsy sample in less time for appropriate lab diagnosis, and ultimately save lives.

Leveraging real-world data and AI to identify cancer patterns and ‘at risk’ populations can help develop focused awareness and screening initiatives across Dehradun,” said FUJIFILM India.

CAD EYE is aimed at improving the real-time polyp detection rate, helping to recognise flat lesions and multiple polyps simultaneously, as well as any lesions at the corner of the image.

FUJIFILM India has teamed up with Astha Hospital to install this world-class system that will ensure the best global diagnostic technology for gastro-endoscopy procedures in Dehradun.

The collaboration aligns with Fujifilm’s commitment to offering the best medical innovations and technologies to improve the quality of life for people around the world.

FUJIFILM India has always contributed and will continue to contribute to making health conditions better in India and ensuring a good lifestyle for its citizens,” the company claimed.

With the installation of the CAD EYE AI system at the Astha Hospital in Dehradun, the patients in the city will be able to get the required medical support to detect polyps or cancers at an early stage and save time for technicians and patients alike.

We aim to provide superior technological medical facilities that can help save lives and encourage patients to become more engaged in their personal care,” Mr. Dheeraj Chaudhari, Head of Division, Endoscopy, FUJIFILM India, reaffirmed to the patients.

He underscored that the company’s vision is to develop technology and create innovative products that lead all of mankind to a healthier and sustainable existence.

With the vision to “Never Stop” innovating, we will continue to strive to provide our consumers with the best-in-class technology and make India a healthier place to live in,” added Mr. Chaudhari.
