UAE – Rockwell Medical, Inc. (RMTI) has extended its global business into the United Arab Emirates through a tie-up with Global Medical Supply Chain (GMSC), a member of GlobalOne Healthcare Holding (GHH).

GMSC is a leading healthcare logistics and medical supply company, delivering end-to-end supply chain services for hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies in the UAE.

Global Medical Supply Chain’s partners include Abbott, LyncMed, Serb, Elis, Zarys, Abu Dhabi Police, and Dubai Health Authority, just to name a few.

Under the long-term supply agreement, Rockwell Medical will distribute its hemodialysis concentrates products into the UAE via Global Medical Supply Chain’s existing network.

This strategic deal comes as the UAE’s healthcare delivery is undergoing a transition that will affect all key stakeholders.

These stakeholders include patients, providers, and those responsible for planning, operating, and financing the health system.

The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) continues to roll out key initiatives to improve care quality, expand care access, and support the shift from public providers to private providers.

Rockwell Medical’s entry to the UAE is in line with the UAE Vision 2021 National Agenda which aims to achieve a world-class healthcare system in the country.

Rockwell’s international business accounts for approximately 10% of the Company’s total revenue. These international partnerships produce favourable economics and diversify the company’s revenue base,” the company said in a release.

Illustrating its commitment to the Middle East region, Rockwell Medical will be expanding access to its portfolio of hemodialysis products for dialysis providers.

Based in Michigan, RMTI develops, manufactures, commercialises, and distributes life-sustaining products for patients suffering from blood disorders and diseases associated with the kidney.

The healthcare company has growing teams operating in various countries throughout North America, South America, Asia, and Africa.

These countries include the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Botswana, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Namibia, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Trinidad & Tobago, United States, and Vietnam.

The latest partnership will see Global Medical Supply Chain leveraging its own established foothold in the UAE market and offering all of Rockwell Medical’s hemodialysis products as part of its portfolio.

The deal aligns with the company’s commitment to delivering fully-integrated pharmaceutical, manufacturing, distribution, health-tech, and hospital management solutions that improve patients’ lives.

In his address, Mark Strobeck, Ph.D., President and CEO of Rockwell Medical, asserted: “Our products have a positive impact on the lives of hemodialysis patients with end-stage kidney disease.”

He underscored that the supply pact will build on Rockwell Medical’s strategic goals and vision of achieving profitability in 2024, noting that the company aims to generate US$100 million in revenue annually in the next few years.

We are proud that our global footprint is growing and that the impact of our hemodialysis portfolio continues to be realized by patients worldwide,” stated Strobeck.

Moreover, Rockwell Medical plans to expand its geographic expansion, domestically and internationally, to further drive its growth and cement its position as a leading global supplier of hemodialysis concentrates.
