Health experts form new ‘Access to Healthcare Board’ to guide advocacy in the MENA region

UAE – World-class healthcare experts from the Middle East and Africa (MENA) region have launched a new ‘Access to Healthcare Board’ to guide health advocacy across the region.

The new advocacy board is expected to transform access to healthcare in the MENA region through innovative and sustainable solutions.

It will advocate the transformation of the healthcare system by expanding access to healthcare in the Middle East and Africa region and beyond.

The special board comprises key government, regulatory, private, and societal stakeholders who have been tasked with establishing, benchmarking, and monitoring access solutions and initiatives.

Dr. Mohammad Al-Sharhan will chair the ‘Access to Healthcare Board’ while Dr. Anas Nofal has been selected as the Secretariat of the new board.

The list of board members includes HE Hesham Al Qasem, HE Dr. Khalid Al Midfa, Dr. Ahmed ElSobky, Dr. Abdullah Al Sumit, Dr. Ali Al Sayyed, Dr Abdul Salam Al Madani, Dr. Hesham Abdullah, Dr. Hani Hamdan, Dr. Ahmed AlEnizi, Dr. Makiyyah Mejrici, Dr. Khalid Al Naqbi, and Dr. Mirna Matni.

Dr. Sawsan Al Madhi, Dr. Nora Al Thumairi, Dr. Omar A. Hamid, Dr. Fakhr Al-Ayoubi, Dr. Maryam Al Khatri, Dr. Mohamed El Sahili, Dr. Mohammed A. Omair, Dr. Anas Hamad, Dr. Haitham Al Bashir, HE Dr. Mohammed Suhail Al Mehari, Mr. Salem bin Lahej, Dr. Joseph Saba have also been appointed as board members.

The ‘Access to Healthcare Board’ is tasked with delivering solutions that will contribute to the transformation of healthcare access and address related inefficiencies in the healthcare system worldwide.

The solutions proposed by the new board will be achieved with the contribution of its key strategic members, who will share information, knowledge, insights, advice, and valuable inputs.

To address patient’s unmet health care needs, the MENA regional board will work in harmony towards increasing awareness of access solutions for patients especially those who are chronically ill and ones in need of specialized care and treatment.

The board members will secure the support of decision-makers, policymakers, and other relevant stakeholders who can commit the necessary resources and enact supportive policies to bring the access solutions to health problems to scale.
