QATAR – The Women’s Wellness and Research Centre (WWRC), a part of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), has concluded a historic campaign dubbed the person-centered healthcare awareness campaign.
Located in Hamad Medical City, Doha, WWRC is designed to provide women in Qatar with specialized care through all stages of their lives.
The women’s care-focused facility is designated as a Center of Excellence by the United Stated-based Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology.
The Women’s Wellness and Research Centre’s latest campaign focused on increasing awareness and sharing comprehensive knowledge of the principles guiding the person-centered care practice.
The person-centered care awareness campaign was organized by members of the Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) at WWRC, alongside hospital faculty and staff from several departments.
It aligns with the role of PFAC as the apex body advocating Person-Centered care at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), the main provider of secondary and tertiary healthcare in Qatar.
Commenting on the significance of the awareness campaign, Dr. Hilal Al Rifai, Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director of WWRC, said: “At WWRC, we strive to meet the healthcare needs of every woman in Qatar in a manner that respects their individual values and preferences.”
WWRC surpassed several campaign goals to set the course for its strategic objectives to offer general information and learning opportunities about a person-centered approach to healthcare service delivery.
The person-centered care awareness campaign drew several positive responses from the PFAC members, patients, and their families who were present at the event.
It was a knowledge-sharing platform that was used to encourage PFAC members, patients, and their families to share their experiences to bring about the necessary improvement changes in WWRC.
“Through the awareness campaign, we were able to show to the community that we are dedicated to providing them with a person-centered quality of care,” underscored Dr. Hilal Al Rifai.
Hamad Medical Corporation’s WWRC gathered information on the patients’ overall experience, which will simultaneously enhance the quality of care and patient experience at HMC healthcare facilities.
Moreover, the awareness campaign will build on the significant progress of Hamad Medical Corporation’s person-centered care journey over the years.
HMC has encouraged the Qatari community including all current and former patients at HMC and their respective families to join the Patient and Family Advisory Council.
This initiative comes as WWRC is one of the HMC hospitals undergoing Planetree Certification for Excellence in person-centered care.
The Planetree Certification represents the highest level of achievement in person-centered care based on evidence and standards.
Consequently, WWRC concludes the latest person-centered care awareness campaign with extraordinary results that will fuel its commitment to delivering personalized family-centered care to all women and newborns in Qatar.
WWRC is the region’s largest tertiary hospital dedicated to women’s health and it houses a large neonatal intensive care service and research centre.
The hospital has 240 private inpatient rooms, seven operating theatres, 26 delivery rooms, and 112 cots in the neonatal intensive care unit for the care of critically ill newborns.
Its scope of surgical and clinical services, includes pre-conception services, pregnancy services, childbirth services, pre-natal and post-natal services, among others.
In related news, the Emergency Department at the Women’s Wellness and Research Center of Hamad Medical Corporation receives more than 70,000 patients a year.
The continuous expansion at the Hamad Medical Corporation’s WWRC helps patients who seek all required services at the hospital in a convenient environment.
