SAUDI ARABIA – Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Group (HMG) has invested over SAR 6.5 billion (US$1.73B) toward an infrastructure project to build six hospitals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
HMG, the largest provider of comprehensive healthcare services in the Middle East, announced that the new hospitals will be operational by the end of 2025.
“These ongoing projects will be completed between 2023 and 2025,” the company said in its 2022 annual report.
To improve healthcare accessibility, HMG plans to build top-tier hospitals in different geographical areas of Riyadh and Jeddah.
In North Riyadh, construction is underway on a SAR 2.2 billion (nearly US$586.53 million) construction project to deliver a new Shamal Al Riyadh Hospital – which is expected to open in 2023.
Construction of a 330-bed capacity Gharb Jeddah Hospital is well in progress in the southwestern side of Jeddah with over SAR 1.5 billion (approximately US$400 million) allocated by HMG for construction works.
HMG has also invested fresh funds for the upgrade of vital health infrastructure, including a new SAR 391 million (nearly US$104.25 million) Maternity and Pediatric Hospital at its modern hospital on Takhassusi Road in Riyadh.
In addition, construction has begun on a new 350-bed capacity Al Muhammadiyah Hospital in North Jeddah – which is expected to open in 2024.
The construction of Sehat Al Kharj Hospital and Al Hamra Hospital is underway as part of the HMG’s infrastructure development project.
According to Zawya Projects, which tracks construction projects across the UAE, the infrastructure development project is to be delivered ahead of schedule to provide dedicated care for patients in Saudi Arabia and beyond.
Upon completion of the infrastructure project, HMG will further cement its position in the Middle East market as one of the leading private medical services providers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This news follows HMG’s partnership with King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) to establish a state-of-the-art medical center in the master-planned city.
Construction work has also begun on a new SAR 2.2 billion (US$587 million) Shamal Al Riyadh Hospital in North Riyadh and the ultramodern facility is slated to open in 2023.
Additionally, plans are underway to upgrade the HMG-backed Medical Centre in the Al Hamra district of Riyadh to a hospital.
The strategic moves align with the organisation’s mission to develop state-of-the-art medical facilities and provide innovative healthcare services that deliver value to its population.
