INDIA – Medicover is set to double its India footprint with the introduction of new multispecialty hospitals in key strategic areas, namely Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Warangal.
It is worth highlighting the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has been allocated about US$ 10 billion (Rs 8,9155 crores) in the 2023/24 financial year, which is an increase of 12.6 percent compared to the revised budget estimate for the 2022/23 financial year.
The landmark financial allocations from the national government to the health sector will cover key initiatives to strengthen primary, secondary, and tertiary public healthcare systems in the country.
In an exclusive interview with Asian News International (ANI), Fredrik Stenmo, Chairman of Medicover, said: “We believe the healthcare markets in India will triple in size by next 10 years from US$150 billion to over US$450 billion.”
With the launch of additional hospitals in key locations, Medicover is expected to increase its presence in the fast-growing Indian healthcare delivery market.
The Swedeen-headquartered group owns an extensive network of clinics, hospitals, specialty care facilities, fertility centers, and diagnostic labs providing a broad spectrum of healthcare services.
It is one of the leading healthcare providers in Europe with a significant presence in strategic locations across India including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra.
In its healthcare network, Medicover operates a total of 32 hospitals and 129 medical centers. The group’s largest markets are India, Poland, and Romania, with a network of 24 hospitals in India alone.
Medicover recently launched cardiology and radiology specialty clinics, along with a free special women’s health package in Bhosari in the city of Pune.
The cardiology unit offers advanced cardiac care while the advanced radiology unit provides patients access to state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging services.

“Over the next five years, our ambition is to more than double our footprint in India. We intend to provide high-quality, affordable care to the Indian people. As a consequence of that, our revenues will grow along the way,” stated Fredrik Stenmo.
The group is currently making significant strides toward establishing additional multispeciality hospitals in various geographic regions of India.
Medicover is setting up multispeciality hospitals specifically designed to cater to the unique needs of patients in the Indian subcontinent.
The new facilities will be staffed by renowned medical teams, leveraging new technologies and international evidence-based protocols, to offer comprehensive treatments across all specialties of medicine.
Moreover, the upcoming hospital building construction projects are a clear representation of the Medicover’s focus on raising the standards of health care in the region.
