SAUDI ARABIA—The International Medical Center (IMC) Hospital in Jeddah has made a significant move to advance the city’s healthcare education by announcing the establishment of a state-of-the-art medical college.
This new initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and underscores IMC’s ongoing commitment to shaping the future of healthcare in the Kingdom.
The IMC Medical College, which will occupy an expansive 13,581 square meters and span six floors, is designed to accommodate up to 1,200 students.
The college will offer diverse academic programs, including undergraduate degrees in Medicine and Nursing and a Master’s in Public Health.
This ambitious project aims to equip future healthcare professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary to meet the evolving needs of the country’s healthcare sector.
According to Dr. Walid Fitaihi, Chairman and CEO of IMC Hospital, the establishment of the medical college is an essential step in their long-term vision to elevate healthcare standards in Saudi Arabia.
Reflecting on the hospital’s journey, Dr. Fitaihi recalled how, two decades ago, IMC promised to transform the private healthcare sector.
Today, they are renewing that commitment by venturing into private healthcare education, which will support the Kingdom’s ambitious Vision 2030 goals.
The new IMC Medical College is set to play a key role in preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals.
By offering innovative programs developed in collaboration with global experts, the college will foster a dynamic learning environment where students can excel, innovate, and take on leadership roles in the healthcare field.
The curriculum will not only focus on clinical expertise but also emphasize the importance of social responsibility, preparing students to become agents of change in public health.
Construction of the IMC Medical College is set to begin soon, with completion expected in the coming years.
Once built, the college will be a major addition to the region’s educational infrastructure, helping to address the growing demand for highly skilled healthcare professionals.
By producing locally trained doctors, nurses, and public health experts, IMC aims to contribute directly to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which focuses on diversifying the economy, building a knowledge-based society, and fostering innovation.
With this investment in healthcare education, IMC is positioned to become a leading institution in Saudi Arabia’s healthcare landscape, empowering the nation’s healthcare workforce for years to come.
