India’s Cadila Pharmaceuticals hires Ashraf Allam as its new Global COO

INDIA- Cadila Pharmaceuticals Ltd., an Indian multinational pharmaceutical company based in Ahmedabad, has welcomed Ashraf Allam as the Global Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Cadila Pharma is one of the largest privately-held pharmaceutical companies in India. Over the past six decades, the company has been developing and manufacturing affordable medicines for patients around the world.

“Ashraf Allam will be based at Bhat corporate office and will report to Cadila’s Group Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Rajiv Modi,” the pharma company informed in an official statement.

He brings a great mix of leadership, inspiration, operational experience, technical breadth, and passion for patients as well as deep knowledge in building and managing businesses in the healthcare industry.

With over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Ashraf Allam is an accomplished and well-regarded business leader who joined Cadila Pharma on November 30, 2022.

The energetic entrepreneur served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the Public Investment Fund prior to joining the Indian multinational pharmaceutical company.

In addition, he holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Pharmaceuticals from Egypt as well as Post Graduate Management Programmes from leading firms in the United States of America and Europe.

He is currently appointed as the senior executive advisor for a number of global private equity funds and family offices in the United States, Europe and in the Middle East.

He also serves as a board member for multiple American and European companies in the healthcare sector including pharma, biotech, medical devices, diagnostics, self-medication and technology firms.

“Allam has a strong track record of holding senior positions at global multinational and privately-held companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Amgen, Eli Lilly, BMS and Mundipharma,” Cadila Pharma stated.

The Ahmedabad-based manufacturer underscored that his ability to drive growth of people and businesses, build brands, transform operations, scale-up capabilities, and successful corporate acquisitions and alliances have been the hallmark of his successful track record.
