UAE – Innovate Life Sciences Lab has expanded its clinical testing capabilities in the Emirates with the launch of a new genomics testing laboratory in Dubai that will use artificial intelligence to advance precision medicine.

The cutting-edge genomics testing lab, based at Dubai Science Park, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), is well-equipped with advanced medical equipment and skilled personnel to perform an array of genetic test offerings for both clinical and research purposes.

The lab will pave the way for Dubai’s rise in the fast-growing biology field with the potential to help personalize each patient’s medical journey using their genetic profile to detect, prevent or treat rare conditions.

It will build on the ongoing efforts of Dubai’s Research and Development (R&D) Program which aims to support key economic sectors and create new opportunities for growth with a comprehensive framework for research, development, and innovation.

The genomics testing lab in Dubai is expected to initially create more than 100 jobs with plans to expand the workforce by 200% by 2026.

In addition, the new facility has snapped up two genomics testing orders in the Asia Pacific valued at about US$10 million (AED 37 million).

Syed S. Hussaini, Chairman of Innovate Life Sciences Lab, said in a release: “Our purpose is to help advance the genetic testing landscape using NextGen Sequencing instruments backed up with technologically advanced computational analysis and expert insights.”

In addition, Innovate Life Sciences Lab has partnered with Indian multinational corporation Wipro Limited to create affordable technologies that use artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to analyse genetic data.

The country’s genetic testing market size is expected to cross US$120 million (AED 440 million) by 2030, according to the UAE Genetic Testing Market 2022 report.

In collaboration with Wipro, Innovate Life Sciences Lab will cater to this growing market by offering specialised genomic services to analyse and interpret data.

The diagnostics company has strategically positioned its first and most comprehensive lab in Dubai Science Park, with its scientific ecosystem & modern infrastructure, to help in developing cutting-edge technology for Life Sciences solutions and fostering Wipro’s data science platforms.

I am pleased to announce that Innovate Life Sciences chose us as ‘Science and Technology partner’ for design, implementation, and operations of their Genomics Lab,” said Harmeet Chauhan, Senior Vice President & Global Head, Engineering and R&D Services, Wipro Limited.

He reassured clients that the company will deploy new-age technologies such as AI/ML, Advanced Analytics, and Computational Biology platforms, which are real table stakes to digitally transform research in Lifesciences.
