Iraq and Qatar partner to improve Al-Nasiriyah Teaching Hospital

IRAQ—Iraq’s Ministry of Health and Elegancia Healthcare W.L.L., a subsidiary of Estithmar Holding in Qatar, have finalized a strategic agreement to oversee operations at the 492-bed Al-Nasiriyah Teaching Hospital in Iraq’s Dhi Qaar Governorate.

The agreement was formally sealed by Dr. Rashid Najm Al Khalidi, Director-General of Dhi Qar Health Department, and Mohammed Al Dawamna, representing Estithmar Holding, in the presence of Health Minister Dr. Saleh Mahdi Al Hasnawi, Qatar’s Ambassador to Iraq HE Sultan bin Mubarak Al Kubaisi, and Elegancia Healthcare’s CEO, Joseph Hazel.

This collaboration aims to enhance the hospital’s operational efficiency, elevate service quality, and broaden its spectrum of medical expertise, aligning with contemporary healthcare standards.

It will tailor medical services to meet the needs of local residents in the governorate and its vicinity.

Under the agreement, a diverse team of national and international medical specialists will be deployed to Al Nasiriya Teaching Hospital.

The scope of work encompasses medical treatments, hospital management, maintenance, supply chain oversight, human resources, and technological support.

Mohamed Bin Badr Al-Sadah, CEO of Estithmar Holding, emphasized the significance of this venture, highlighting the company’s commitment to advancing healthcare initiatives in Iraq.

He stressed that Elegancia Healthcare’s management will ensure the delivery of top-tier medical services at Al-Nasiriyah Teaching Hospital.

Qatari Ambassador to Iraq Sultan bin Mubarak Al-Kubaisi affirmed the esteemed reputation of Elegancia Healthcare, citing its successful management of significant hospitals in Doha.

Elegancia Healthcare brings a wealth of experience in hospital management, including co-ownership of The View Hospital with Cedars-Sinai and the Korean Medical Center in Darb Lusail, Qatar, in collaboration with leading Korean medical institutions.

The company is also expanding its global footprint with projects like the Algerian-Qatari-German Hospital in partnership with the Algerian Ministry of Health and initiatives in Uzbekistan.
