ISRAEL – Sheba Medical Center, the largest hospital in Israel based in Tel Hashomer, has entered into a strategic healthcare partnership agreement with United Arab Emirates’ PureHealth aimed at driving innovation in healthcare.
The strategic agreement will combine Sheba Medical Center’s clinical research expertise with PureHealth’s network of healthcare facilities to accelerate the adoption of advanced technology in healthcare.
The agreement will pave the way for future collaboration in staff training and medical education, which is a huge step towards boosting health tourism in the UAE and Israel.
It marks an important point of progress in strengthening ties between Israel’s healthcare system and the UAE’s health sector, aligning with the essence of the Abraham Accords.
The legal document was signed in the presence of His Excellency Mohamed Mahmoud Al Khaja, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Israel, and His Excellency Amir Hayek, Ambassador of Israel to the United Arab Emirates.
On his part, Rashid Al Qubaisi, Group Chief Corporate Officer at PureHealth, said: “By combining our expertise and resources, we aim to foster breakthrough research, advance medical education, and establish a robust framework for clinical services coordination.”
This news comes as Sheba Medical Center signed a strategic scientific collaboration with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) aimed at identifying emerging disease threats in the region.
Israel’s largest medical center also linked up with Saint Vincent De Paul Hospital in Nazareth to provide care through the telemedicine services of Sheba Beyond Virtual Hospital.
Similarly, Sheba Medical Center and General Catalyst, a leading venture capital firm based in the United States, formed a strategic partnership to accelerate digital health transformation
Sheba becomes the second global partner and first partner in Israel to join the General Catalyst’s Health Assurance Ecosystem cohort.
Through the new agreement, Sheba Medical Center and PureHealth will work closely on clinical research projects as well as speed up the development of genetic research initiatives.
Sheba Medical Center and PureHealth will also co-design and develop clinical specialization projects and internship opportunities to enhance the competency of the respective medical staff.
Moreover, both parties will explore opportunities for data sharing in clinical research studies, collaboration on healthcare innovation research projects, and strengthening clinical trials.
“This strategic partnership underlines PureHealth’s efforts to enhance the expertise and knowledge of healthcare professionals, and sets the stage for more ambitious advancements in healthcare systems throughout the region,” stated Rashid Al Qubaisi.
As part of this agreement, Sheba Medical Center and PureHealth will jointly organize conferences, workshops, and events in the medical field to benefit patients and healthcare providers
The strategic deal will build on PureHealth’s ongoing efforts to elevate standards for healthcare delivery to enhance patient outcomes at the local, regional, and international levels.
Overall, Sheba Medical Center and PureHealth, the largest integrated healthcare platform in the Middle East, hope to improve people’s health, lives, and standards of living in both countries.
