This expansion is part of the Kingdom’s ongoing healthcare transformation, aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to build a healthier and more vibrant society.

SAUDI ARABIA—Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH), a leading healthcare provider established in 2014 through a partnership between Saudi Aramco and Johns Hopkins Medicine, has announced a historic expansion of its services.
For the first time, JHAH will open its world-class medical facilities and expertise to the broader public in Saudi Arabia, allowing the public beyond the Saudi Aramco community to benefit from advanced healthcare resources.
This expansion is part of the Kingdom’s ongoing healthcare transformation, aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to build a healthier and more vibrant society.
Dr. Howard S. Podolsky, CEO of JHAH, highlighted that this expansion marks a bold new chapter in delivering world-class care to all Saudi residents.
By combining the global standards of Johns Hopkins Medicine with deep local knowledge, JHAH promises to provide exceptional, patient-centered care tailored to individual needs.
The move comes as Saudi Arabia accelerates efforts in healthcare innovation, preventive care, and increasing access to services across the region.
Alongside this expansion, JHAH is launching a series of Centers of Excellence (CoEs) to set new standards in multidisciplinary care across key medical fields.
The first of these, the Oncology Center of Excellence, will officially open at the Global Health Exhibition 2025 in Riyadh from October 27 to 30.
This center focuses on breast, prostate, and colorectal cancers, the most common cancers in the region.
It offers a comprehensive approach that integrates screening, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and palliative care into one coordinated model.
JHAH plans to develop additional Centers of Excellence covering other critical areas such as cardiovascular medicine, addressing evolving healthcare priorities in Saudi Arabia and neighboring countries.
These centers follow the Johns Hopkins Medicine standards, blending clinical expertise, advanced research, and innovation to deliver improved patient outcomes and elevate healthcare quality across the Kingdom.
This announcement aligns with the broader trend in Saudi Arabia’s healthcare sector, which has seen significant investment, including an estimated US$36.8 billion budget for healthcare and social development in 2025.
Recent medical advancements showcased at events like the Global Health Exhibition include cutting-edge cancer therapies, robotic-assisted surgeries, and digital health technologies, highlighting the country’s commitment to becoming a regional hub for advanced medical care.
Moreover, JHAH has been recognized for excellence, ranking fifth among Saudi hospitals in Newsweek’s Best Hospitals 2025 report, further cementing its reputation in clinical innovation and patient care.
This expansion enables more people in Saudi Arabia to access high-quality medical services backed by international expertise, promoting early disease detection, healthier lifestyles, and enhanced standards throughout the healthcare system.
