The Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award, now in its fourth edition, celebrates exceptional nurses from around the world for their dedication, skill, and impact in healthcare.
UAE— Nurse Khadija Mohamed Juma from Tudor Subcounty Hospital in Kenya has been named one of the top 10 finalists for the prestigious Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award 2025.
This international recognition comes with a grand prize of US$250,000, which will be awarded to one outstanding nurse at a gala event in Dubai on May 26, 2025.
The Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award, now in its fourth edition, celebrates exceptional nurses from around the world for their dedication, skill, and impact in healthcare.
This year’s competition saw an overwhelming response, with more than 100,000 registrations submitted from over 200 countries.
The finalists were chosen through a rigorous evaluation process, overseen by both an expert jury and a grand jury panel, and independently moderated by Ernst & Young LLP to ensure fairness and transparency
Joining Khadija on the shortlist are nine other exceptional nurses from across the globe: Catherine Maree Holliday (Switzerland), Edith Namba (Papua New Guinea), Fitz Gerald Dalina Camacho (UAE), Dr. Jed Ray Gengoba Montayre (Hong Kong SAR), Dr. Jose Arnold Tariga (USA), Maheswari Jaganathan (Malaysia), Naomi Oyoe Ohene Oti (Ghana), Dr. Sukhpal Kaur (India), and Vibhaben Gunvantbhai Salaliya (India).
Each of these finalists has demonstrated extraordinary commitment to patient care, leadership, education, community service, or innovation in healthcare.
Reflecting on the announcement, Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, emphasized the importance of recognizing nurses not only as caregivers but also as leaders and innovators who make a profound difference in their communities.
He noted that the award is a platform to honor their passion, resilience, and tireless service, inspiring others in the profession to reach new heights.
The final stage of the competition will include public voting and interviews with distinguished members of the Grand Jury.
The winner will be revealed during the award ceremony in Dubai, coinciding with International Nurses Day, further highlighting the global significance of the event
Last year’s award was won by Nurse Maria Victoria Juan from the Philippines, who used her prize money to launch the #BeOneMovement, focusing on lifesaving training and environmental initiatives.
