KENYA – The AAR Hospital Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ken Muma has announced that the facility has kickstarted the implementation process of a new operating model aimed at streamlining operational costs and cost while ensuring the business is structured for the future.

Opened in 2021, the private level 5 hospital offers a range of healthcare services including emergency & urgent care services, renal unit & dialysis services, obstetrics & gynecology services, critical care services, medical & surgical services, specialized clinics as well as paediatric services.

Other services provided at the Kenyan health facility along Kiambu Road include well baby and travel vaccine services, theatre services, executive check-up clinics, diagnostics and imaging services along with pharmacy Services.

The Hospital’s mission is to deliver an unparalleled patient experience through a customer-centered approach that leverages innovation and an engaged workforce.

Dr. Ken Muma announced that the AAR Hospital’s new operating model caters for changing market conditions and the competitive environment that the 140-bed general hospital with both inpatient and outpatient service operates in today.

As a result, we have restructured the organization and revised our business model for enhanced service delivery at lower operational costs,” the AAR Hospital CEO said in an official statement.

He explained that in light of the significant organizational changes, employees have been notified that necessary changes will be made to the manning structures which will result in the reduction of the AAR Hospital workforce.

The intended redundancy is due to the fact that the volume of work at our facility has not grown as initially projected, and therefore, the company cannot sustain the current workforce,” Dr. Muma highlighted.

The AAR Hospital CEO further disclosed that the Board of Directors of the Company has reached the unfortunate decision to reorganize its operations which includes a proposal to reduce the number of employees.

Additionally, the general hospital has informed its employees about the proposed changes in advance in line with section 40 (1)(a) of the Employment Act ,2007 (the Act).

Management intends to make this process as smooth as possible and look forward to your support throughout this difficult business decision period,” the AAR Hospital CEO concluded.
