KENYA —Dr. Nakumicha Susan, the Cabinet Secretary for Health, has wrapped up the Kenya Health Agenda in Belgium with a visit to the Medicines Sans Frontiers (MSF) Global Supply Chain offices and warehouses in Brussels.

During her visit, Dr. Wafula explored the best practices in procurement, warehousing, and distribution of health products and technologies for Kenya, presented by MSF, a globally recognized humanitarian response organization.

MSF has been operating in Kenya since 1987 and has a wealth of experience in providing lifesaving medical care to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from healthcare.

The Ministry of Health and MSF have identified potential partnership opportunities to strengthen the public supply chain emergency response systems and health commodity security for Kenya and the East African Community (EAC) region.

The two entities will also work together to enhance the existing partnerships between MOH and MSF in Kenya.

This visit is a significant step towards building a robust and sustainable health system in Kenya, with the primary objective of ensuring better health outcomes for all its citizens.

The partnership between the Ministry of Health and MSF is poised to significantly strengthen the country’s public health supply chain emergency response systems and improve the health commodity security for the people of Kenya and the EAC region.

By leveraging MSF’s experience and expertise, the partnership is expected to bring innovative solutions and new technologies to strengthen the country’s health system and improve access to quality healthcare for all.

Furthermore, Kenya is making significant strides in its quest to build robust and sustainable healthcare systems.

President William Ruto recently announced a partnership with Univercells to establish a biotechnology center in Nairobi, as part of the country’s plan for universal healthcare.

The center’s primary focus will be on the manufacturing of vaccines and drugs, with the aim of providing accessible and affordable healthcare to all Kenyans.

The partnership with Univercells will also include skills transfer to enhance the country’s human capital in the pharmaceutical industry, ensuring that the project has a lasting impact.

The Cabinet Secretary for Health, Dr. Nakumicha S. Wafula, accompanied President Ruto on his visit to Univercells’ biotech center in Belgium, highlighting the Kenyan government’s commitment to working with industry leaders to achieve its healthcare goals.

This partnership with Univercells is just one of many examples of Kenya’s efforts to establish strong healthcare systems through collaborations and partnerships with organizations like Medicines Sans Frontiers.

By leveraging the latest biotechnology solutions and working with industry leaders, Kenya is poised to achieve its goal of providing quality healthcare services to all its citizens.
