SAUDI ARABIA – The King Saud University Medical City (KSUMC) has signed a collaboration agreement with the Houston Methodist, a hospital network in the United States.
Based in Riyadh, King Saud University Medical City is a tertiary care academic medical center with decades of experience in multi-facility and multi-disciplinary administration.
The medical city aims to transform integrated healthcare management through the collective promotion of education & training, care provision, and research on all fronts.
KSUMC and Houston Methodist have agreed to explore potential areas of collaboration in clinical research, innovation, education, and training to provide world-class, integrated health care.
The partnership will focus on the development and implementation of projects related to healthcare quality and patient safety, along with the provision of clinical, administrative, and educational services.
It will a unique platform for healthcare professionals from both organizations to exchange knowledge, experiences, and best practices to promote the quality of health services delivered to beneficiaries.
In addition, the collaboration aims to deliver an impactful customer experience by applying the best international standards in the health sector.
KSUMC will work closely with the Houston Methodist to develop health services, medical education, and scientific research in line with Saudi’s Health Sector Transformation Program – Vision 2030.
Moreover, it builds on the momentum of Houston Methodist’s commitment to enhancing healthcare delivery across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Houston Methodist comprises a leading academic medical center in the Texas Medical Center and six community hospitals serving the Greater Houston area.
The founding member and partner of the renowned Texas Medical Center is the largest medical center in the world with over 100 years of pioneering medical achievements and research.
Subsequently, the industry-university collaboration will play a critical role in empowering the medical fraternity and patients in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in the United States.
The signing ceremony was presided over by Professor Ahmad Hersi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at KSUMC, and Cathy Easter, president and CEO of Houston Methodist Global Health Care Services.
It was witnessed by several senior officials at the King Saud University Medical City and Houston Methodist team members.
The KSUMC officials present at the signing ceremony include the Executive Director of Health Affairs, Dr. Fawzi Al-Jasser, the Executive Director of Academic Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Bahmam, the Medical Director of King Khalid University Hospital, Dr. Nasser Al-Khamis, and the Medical Director of the University Dental Hospital, Dr. Sarah Al-Sabeet.
