SAUDI ARABIA – King’s College Hospital London (King’s) has appointed Dr. Mohaymen Abdelghany as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for its branch in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Kings College Hospital London in Dubai (KCH Dubai) is a multi-disciplinary, world-renowned hospital with two family clinics based in Jumeirah and Marina.

KCH Dubai recently partnered with Oracle Cerner to operate and manage its upgraded and enhanced electronic medical records system.

It is a joint venture involving Al Tayer Group and the Ashmore Group Plc, a London-listed investment management company with a focus on emerging markets.

King’s College Hospital London and Ashmore Group plc have jointly selected Dr. Mohaymen Abdelghany as CEO for its Saudi Arabia business.

The senior-level appointment follows Ashmore’s successful launch of King’s in Dubai.

Building on the success of King’s College Hospital Dubai, Ashmore Group and King’s College Hospital London have begun the construction of King’s College Hospital Jeddah (KCHJ).

With over 25 years of experience in global health, Dr. Mohaymen Abdelghany is well-suited to lead the expansion of King’s College Hospital London’s platform in Saudi Arabia.

He is an accomplished physician consultant and healthcare leader who will oversee Ashmore’s ambitious expansion plan across Saudi Arabia and the Middle East region.

In his new role, Dr. Abdelghany will oversee the construction programme of King’s hospital in Jeddah, which is scheduled to open at the beginning of 2024.

KCHJ will be the country’s first truly integrated hospital bringing the full benefits of King’s College Hospital London to Saudi Arabia.

In addition to global health experiences, a staggering number of awards have been bestowed on the Harvard alumnus.

In his address, Dr. Mohaymen Abdelghany said: “It is very exciting to work with Ashmore and King’s London teams to bring the best of British healthcare to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the region.”

He reaffirmed his commitment to the Ashmore Group plc and its strategic partner King’s College Hospital London, stating that he will strengthen the Saudi branch’s client base.

I am committed to working hard to unlock the full value of the partnership, in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in the healthcare sector,” the healthcare leader added.

In addition, Dr. Mohaymen is expected to cement King’s position as the highest-quality provider in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
