INDIA – Lupin Diagnostics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lupin, has expanded its regional footprint in South India by opening its new Satellite Laboratory in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
This news comes barely a month after Lupin entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the entire share capital of the French pharmaceutical company, Medisol.
Upon completion of the acquisition, Lupin will gain access to Medisol’s portfolio of seven injectable products across four therapeutic areas.
Lupin is looking to extend its operations in India as a step forward in providing comprehensive diagnostic solutions and reinforcing its position in the diagnostics industry.
As of 2023, the global pharma major has deepened its footprint in South India with the opening of its Regional Reference Laboratory in Bengaluru, followed by Hyderabad, and, now a new Satellite Laboratory in Vijayawada.
The Vijayawada-based facility will expand Lupin Diagnostics’ capacity to facilitate accurate and efficient testing, timely diagnosis, and, ultimately, improve patient care.
With this opening, Lupin Diagnostics strengthens its presence in India with an extensive network of 27 laboratories, 410+ exclusive collection centers (LupiMitra), and over 1800 pick-up points.

Lupin plans to expand its footprint in South India by opening a total of more than 200 collection centers across the region by March 2024.
As the brand continues its regional expansion, the newly launched laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic technology and staffed by a team of highly qualified clinical experts.
This strategic move is a key milestone towards strengthening its position as India’s leading diagnostic network and a trusted leader in the healthcare industry.
Located in the south eastern part of the Indian subcontinent, Lupin’s new laboratory has an advanced infrastructure and applies an integration of cutting-edge technology and expertise.
The move is central to Lupin Diagnostics’ strategy to enhance access to high-quality testing services and increasing the diagnostics network across the country.
For this reason, Lupin Diagnostics has enhanced its value-added services through inclusion of dynamic smart reports for patients along with tips for monitoring their health, and historical trend graphs.

The satellite lab is designed to offer reliable and high-quality diagnostic services as well as provide routine and specialized tests to the local community.
