M42 collaborates with Oracle to deliver pharmacogenomic insights at the point of care in UAE

UAE—M42, a global health leader leveraging technology, artificial intelligence, and genomics, is partnering with Oracle Health to create unified, longitudinal patient records accessible throughout the UAE.

This collaboration aims to improve healthcare by integrating genetic data directly into electronic health records (EHR), supporting personalized treatment plans tailored to patients’ unique genetic profiles.

The initiative will incorporate data from the Emirati Genome Programme directly into the EHR systems managed by Oracle Health and M42.

This integration enables pharmacogenomic recommendations to be available at the point of care, helping clinicians make informed decisions about medication based on each patient’s genetic makeup.

By using the Oracle Health Foundation EHR, both organizations intend to enhance healthcare delivery, focusing on prevention, promoting healthy longevity, and encouraging healthy lifestyles.

Dimitris Moulavasilis, Group Chief Executive Officer at M42, explained that this program will provide clinicians and patients with actionable insights.

These insights will enable healthcare providers to deliver proactive, personalized care, ultimately improving health outcomes for communities across the UAE.

He also emphasized that this collaboration with Oracle is a step toward a future where healthcare becomes predictive, personalized, and accessible to everyone.

Seema Verma, Executive Vice President and General Manager at Oracle Health and Life Sciences, emphasized the significance of delivering pharmacogenomic insights directly at the point of care.

She stated that this will help doctors prescribe medications tailored to each patient’s genetic profile.

The result will be increased treatment effectiveness, better preventive care, and reduced wasted resources from ineffective prescriptions.

Furthermore, Verma noted that the partnership aligns closely with the UAE’s vision of pioneering health innovation and delivering patient-centered care.

The work carried out by Oracle Health and M42 supports the long-term health and well-being of the UAE’s citizens by promoting more efficient and personalized medical services.

Dr. Fahed Al Marzooqi, Chief Executive Officer of M42’s Integrated Health Solutions platform, described how integrating genetic data at the point of prescribing can increase the likelihood of selecting the most effective medication from the start.

This approach reduces the risk of trial-and-error prescribing and promotes faster recovery times by ensuring patients receive the right treatment promptly.
