UAE— M42, an Abu Dhabi-based global tech-enabled health powerhouse, has launched the M42 Microbiome Wellness Program, which is set to change gut health.
This pioneering program, offered only at M42, combines modern DNA sequencing technology with tailored consultations to set new benchmarks for well-being.
The program is available at Mubadala Health Dubai, highlighting M42’s commitment to transforming health and well-being around the world.
The exclusive program, which uses modern shotgun metagenomic sequencing technology, has rapid turnaround times and is licensed by the Ministry of Health and Prevention.
It provides specialized solutions for a variety of health goals, including digestive disorders, sports performance, weight control, and diabetes management.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Pranab Gyawali, Consultant Gastroenterologist at Mubadala Health Dubai, noted that managing the microbiome is a transforming road to overall health.
According to him, recent advances in DNA technology and artificial intelligence have cleared the way for a novel microbiome test that employs cutting-edge sequencing techniques.
The assessment generates a complete 60-page report, which provides useful insights for healthcare providers to make personalized recommendations.
Dr. Gyawali described the microbiome as a diverse community of bacteria, viruses, and fungi that live in the intestine and, along with the metabolites they produce, play an important role in various bodily functions such as immunity, digestion, and brain functioning.
Dr. Gyawali specializes in enhancing the quality of life for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) patients through tailored dietary guidance.
Beyond digestion and immunology, ongoing research investigates the microbiome’s relationship with ailments such as autoimmune diseases and neurodegenerative disorders.
The program holds potential in sports performance by targeting specific gut bacteria that enhance athletic abilities through lactic acid metabolism and muscle recovery promotion.
This initiative will also be implemented at other M42 assets in the future, including Healthpoint.
Mubadala Health Dubai is a speciality clinic and day surgery centre that opened in 2022.
It is M42’s first strategic expansion outside of Abu Dhabi, offering comprehensive diagnostic services with international standards for adults and children, as well as a continuum of care for Dubai’s communities.
The 125,000-square-foot cutting-edge facility features medical and pediatric specialty clinics, a day surgery centre, 96 consultation rooms, four operating rooms, two endoscopy suites, an in-house laboratory, pharmacy, radiology department, dedicated rehabilitation gyms, and dedicated procedure rooms.
