UAE —M42, a global leader in tech-enabled healthcare, has announced a strategic investment partnership with the UAE Ministry of Defence to manage and operate Zayed Military Hospital in Al Batayeh, Sharjah.
This initiative aims to provide world-class healthcare services to more than three million people in the northern regions of the UAE, marking a significant milestone in advancing the country’s healthcare capabilities.
The partnership between M42 and the Ministry of Defence is designed to meet the growing healthcare needs of the northern population, introducing cutting-edge medical treatments and improving access to high-quality care.
As part of this collaboration, M42 will offer comprehensive and specialized clinical services to military personnel and civilians, ensuring that servicemen’s and women’s families, as well as the wider community, receive the best possible care.
This collaboration will benefit over three million residents and transform the healthcare landscape in the UAE by further integrating the nation’s healthcare ecosystem.
M42 plans to deliver advanced medical services, including precise and preventive care, through its network of state-of-the-art satellite clinics, such as the Imperial College London Diabetes Centre (ICLDC), Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi (CCAD), and Healthpoint.
The strategic partnership highlights M42’s growing reputation as a key player in global healthcare and expands its network of hospitals, adding Zayed Military Hospital to its portfolio of facilities spanning 26 countries.
Major General Dr Aysha Sultan Aldhaheri, Executive Director of the Military Health Executive Directorate in the UAE Ministry of Defence, and Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, Managing Director and Group CEO of M42, signed the agreement during a formal ceremony at the Ministry of Defence in Abu Dhabi.
Major General Pilot Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, and other distinguished officials attended the event.
Dr. Aldhaheri expressed her pride in this groundbreaking military-civilian partnership, emphasising its importance in providing top-tier medical services to the armed forces and enhancing access to specialized healthcare across the northern UAE.
She highlighted that the collaboration reflects the Ministry of Defence’s commitment to delivering the highest healthcare standards while strengthening its role in the national healthcare ecosystem.
Hasan Jasem Al Nowais also spoke on the significance of this partnership, noting that it represents a major step forward in M42’s mission to make specialized healthcare accessible to more people.
He added that the partnership aligns with M42’s broader goal of transforming healthcare delivery in the region, bringing advanced medical services and expertise closer to underserved areas.
M42’s integration of leading healthcare providers such as ICLDC and Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi into Zayed Military Hospital – Al Batayeh is expected to set new standards for medical care in the northern regions.
This collaboration builds on M42’s recent expansion efforts, including the launch of a pioneering diabetes care facility under ICLDC in Al Dhafra and a partnership with Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company to establish Amana Healthcare in Bahrain.

Full-scale operations at Zayed Military Hospital – Al Batayeh are scheduled to begin in early 2025, further solidifying M42’s role as a leader in healthcare innovation.
