Magrabi Health partners with Miranza to elevate eye care in the UAE

UAE—Magrabi Health, a leading eye care provider in the UAE, has entered a strategic partnership with Miranza, one of Europe’s top ophthalmology groups. 

The collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aims to advance ophthalmic care and set new benchmarks for excellence in the region.  

Founded in 1955 as the first private specialized eye hospital in the Middle East and Africa, Magrabi Health has grown into a symbol of eye care expertise.

Today, its team of over 1,400 clinicians, including 800 surgeons and doctors, and 40 optometrists, serves more than 2 million patients annually, performing over 200,000 sight-preserving surgeries.  

Miranza, based in Spain, is a renowned network of ophthalmology hospitals and centers, recognized for delivering high-quality, personalized care. 

The group, which conducts over 25,000 surgeries yearly through more than 200 specialized doctors across 30 locations, is dedicated to making advanced ophthalmology accessible to all.  

This partnership marks a significant milestone for Magrabi Health, as it integrates Miranza’s expertise and innovative practices into its operations.

The agreement outlines a range of collaborative efforts, including knowledge exchange, advanced technology adoption, and specialized training. 

These initiatives aim to enhance Magrabi Health’s clinical capabilities while contributing to the global medical community.  

Mutasim Alireza, CEO of Magrabi Health, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that it will bring world-class expertise and technological advancements to patients in the UAE. 

He emphasized that the collaboration aligns with Magrabi’s mission to deliver the highest standards of eye care globally.  

Echoing this sentiment, Ramón Berra, General Director of Miranza, shared his excitement about joining forces with a leader in Middle Eastern eye care. 

He noted that the partnership reflects a shared vision to elevate ophthalmology services worldwide, enhance patient care, and support the professional development of healthcare providers.  

As part of the initiative, Miranza’s specialists will regularly visit Magrabi Health facilities in the UAE for patient consultations, medical camps, and academic activities, including conferences and grand rounds. 

The partnership will also focus on refining clinical policies and procedures to ensure consistent application of best practices.  

Magrabi Health plans to establish Centers of Excellence in collaboration with Miranza, leveraging the latter’s expertise in consultancy and recruitment to foster an environment of innovation and clinical excellence.

For patients requiring specialized care, the partnership will facilitate seamless transfers to Miranza’s hospitals in Spain.  

In addition to clinical advancements, the two organizations will collaborate on research projects aimed at exploring new frontiers in ophthalmology.

These efforts are expected to enhance patient outcomes and streamline care protocols, contributing to the global field of eye health.
