INDIA- Mankind Pharma and NOTTO (National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization) have partnered to run an awareness campaign for organ donation.

Around 17,000 Mankind Pharma employees volunteered to give organs at the live event, according to the company’s press release.

Dr. Archana Kumari from NOTTO and Dr. Sanjiv Jasuja, a nephrologist from Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in New Delhi, led the live session.

Dr. Archana discussed the truths and fallacies surrounding organ donation while urging everyone to make an organ donation pledge.

She also emphasized the need of making it a topic of conversation among friends and family because doing so will impact people’s perspectives and, at the at least, inspire them to consider organ donation.

Dr. Sanjiv highlighted the significance of organ donation and stated that only those with brain death and a beating heart can have their organs removed; however, those who are terminally ill at home can readily donate their corneas.

Organ transplantation is one of the biggest developments in modern medicine. Unfortunately, there are much more persons in need of organ donations than there are donors.

With this initiative, Mankind aims to spread awareness and educate people that such kind of healthy discussions are needed which will help people to make better decision and should come forward to join hands in the cause
