We look at cardiac care with a two-pronged approach – treating patients and primary prevention,” Dr. Balbir Singh, Chairman Cardiology, Pan- Max Healthcare, said in a statement.

He pointed out that the primary prevention programs seek to raise public awareness about cardiac health, noting that the Indian hospital chain has launched several consumer-centric campaigns across the country.

Through the collaboration with Mayo Clinic, we aim to develop an ecosystem that puts India on the global map for the best cardiac care in the world,” Dr. Singh.

The strategic deal was signed during a two-day conference aimed at redefining the standard of care for cardiovascular disease prevention and treatment in India, which brough together over 500 clinicians from across the country.

The two-day conference was a unique platform for knowledge sharing and peer-to-peer networking allowing participants to discuss best practices in cardiac care, the latest developments in structural heart diseases and the best use of imaging modalities among other key topics.

To facilitate best clinical practices in cardiac care, Max Healthcare and Mayo Clinic will jointly offer training and upskilling programs, develop research-based learning strategies and advance clinical excellence for better patient outcomes.

The global standards of cardiac care include adhering to a set guideline directed management around monitoring the complication rate, infection rate and decision making for patients who may or may not need surgical intervention.

The two parties will facilitate the utilization of high-quality health infrastructure and implementation of the world-class technology backed by highly skilled clinicians and support staff to advance cardiac care in the country.

Moreover, the partnership will align and strengthen clinical practices for cardiac care in India in concerted efforts to tackle the increasing burden of heart-related ailments as well as introduce cost effective solutions for therapy and interventional procedures.
