INDIA – Max Healthcare Institute Ltd (MHIL) announced a long-term services agreement with Muthoot Hospitals Private Limited (MHPL) for the operation and management of a 300-bed hospital in New Delhi’s Dwarka sub-city.
The agreement is only for the first phase, and the hospital, which will be built in Sector 10 and has the capacity to add 1,000 beds, will be known as Max Super Specialty Hospital, Dwarka, and is expected to open in the second half of 2023, according to the New Delhi-based hospital chain.
Max may be entitled to a fixed service payment and a variable service payment under the providers’ settlement, which is valid for 30 years.
The current organization is limited to the primary section hospital, which is located on 8.62 acres of land.
“We are excited on the prospect of extending our providers and offering care to communities dwelling in South-West Delhi,” mentioned Abhay Soi, chairman and managing director, Max Healthcare.
“The arrangement underscores the focus and success of our strategic asset light model of growth and to start with, it will add 8% to our overall capacity in near future,” Soi added.
Max has a total capacity of 3400 beds. Max stated that construction on a 10-story hospital building is well underway.
The first section hospital may have 100 intensive care unit (ICU) beds, 10 operating rooms, two cath labs, and Linac bunkers used to treat cancer patients, among other things.
The hospital will serve Dwarka, a Delhi suburb with a rapidly growing population of more than 12 lakhs (1.2 million) that is well connected to Manesar and New Gurgaon.
Max’s primary focus is in North India, where it operates a community of 17 healthcare services. Out of the entire community, eight hospitals and four medical centers are located in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), while the others are located in Mumbai, Mohali, Bathinda, and Dehradun.
“The new hospital will allow us to further strengthen our presence in Delhi NCR. The hospital will be committed to the highest standards of clinical excellence, research, academics and patient care, serving both domestic and international patients,” Soi said.
