SWITZERLAND—Medacta Group SA has partnered with THINK Surgical, a pioneer in open-platform orthopaedic robotics, which will introduce THINK Surgical’s cutting-edge TMINI® Miniature Robotic System for total knee replacement procedures.

The TMINI® wireless, hand-held technology will support Medacta’s unique GMK Sphere and GMK SpheriKA knee implants.

These implants are remarkable for being the first created expressly for Kinematic Alignment, a cutting-edge, personalised technique that will improve patient satisfaction and encourage a faster return to an active lifestyle.

In expressing enthusiasm about this collaboration, Matt Goudy, Managing Director and President of Medacta USA, emphasized that this partnership represents a significant advancement in their commitment to providing state-of-the-art technologies.

Goudy highlighted that the collaboration will further Medacta’s mission to drive sustainable innovation and deliver personalized solutions to surgeons and patients globally.

The THINK Surgical TMINI® system, when combined with the GMK Sphere and GMK SpheriKA implants, will improve the MyKA platform.

This platform is widely regarded as the most comprehensive instrument for safely and consistently delivering Kinematic Alignment total knee replacements.

Additionally, the TMINI® system will add to Medacta’s existing range of enabling technologies for knee arthroplasty.

It provides surgeons with a robotic-assisted option for precise 3D CT-based preoperative planning, improving the accuracy and effectiveness of the treatment.

Furthermore, the TMINI® technology will be a key component of Medacta’s MySolutions Personalised Ecosystem.

This ecosystem is a collection of innovative digital technologies designed to improve patient outcomes and increase healthcare efficiency throughout the entire care process.

The NextAR Augmented Reality Surgical Platform, which optimises surgical workflows using patient-specific data, is a key component of this ecosystem.

Other features include MyKnee Patient Matched Technology and the Efficiency KneePack, which combines patient-specific cutting blocks, single-use instruments, and implants in a simple one-time-use package.

While Medacta’s MySolutions Ecosystem remains important to its technology focus, the new collaboration with THINK Surgical will allow for continuous robotics studies in the US market.

It will also help Medacta’s targeted efforts in the rapidly developing Ambulatory Surgery Centre market.

The M.O.R.E. Institute’s comprehensive instructional resources support all Medacta products. This institute, with its international network of experienced surgeons, is at the forefront of teaching and provides personalised and advanced training programs.

Medacta supports surgeons at every stage of their exploration and implementation of innovative technology.
