SAUDI ARABIA – The National Unified Procurement Company (NUPCO) has awarded UltraViolet Devices, Inc., an ultraviolet light supplier based in the United States, a two-year procurement tender.

The award from NUPCO, reference number NPT0009/22, covers procurement activities involved in obtaining new UVDI-360 room sanitizers for various healthcare facilities across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The UVDI-360 room sanitizer provides enhanced patient protection by disinfecting high-risk microorganisms from surfaces after manual cleaning and disinfecting.

The advanced ‘No-Touch’ UV-C technology is independently proven to provide 99.99% inactivation of 35 microorganisms in 5 minutes at 2.44 meters (8 feet) distance – and Candida auris in 20 minutes.

To this end, UVDI will provide new UVDI-360 room sanitizers for nearly 400 government hospitals operated by the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Interior, the National Guard, University Hospitals, and Specialized Hospitals.

Seven new UVDI-360 room sanitizers have already shipped to Saudi Arabia as a result of the two-year tender,” UltraViolet Devices, Inc. said in a press release.

According to the California-based ultraviolet light supplier, the UVDI-360 room sanitizer’s effectiveness has been independently demonstrated in 23 clinical and laboratory studies.

The UVDI-360 room sanitizers will be distributed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by the Scientific and Medical Equipment House (SMEH) Corporation.

On the other hand, UltraViolet Devices, Inc. is represented by Richmond Enterprises across the wider Middle East region.

This exciting milestone can elevate patient care across Saudi Arabia by enabling the use of advanced UV disinfection technology in thousands of hospital rooms,” underscored Ronnie Pegna, Chief Executive Officer of Richmond Enterprises.

Ronnie Pegna lauded NUPCO’s leadership for the procurement tender that will allow the latter to ensure greater protection and safety of hospital patients, employees, and visitors, and in turn, help to improve patient outcomes.

The contract will run for a period of two years from the commencement following NUPCO’s rigorous review process.
