Mediclinic Middle East to consolidate two Abu Dhabi hospitals into one flagship facility

The new consolidated facility will have 265 beds and cover over 74,000 square meters.

UAE—Mediclinic Middle East, a prominent private healthcare provider in the UAE, has announced a significant consolidation of its two hospitals in Abu Dhabi.

This consolidation will merge Mediclinic Al Noor Hospital and Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital into a single, state-of-the-art medical campus at the expanded Airport Road location.

This strategic move aims to enhance operational efficiency, improve patient care, and create a future-ready healthcare facility.

The transition will involve gradually phasing out services at Mediclinic Al Noor Hospital and transferring all clinical operations and expertise to the upgraded Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital.

The new consolidated facility will have 265 beds and cover over 74,000 square meters.

Supported by an investment of approximately AED 120 million (USD 33 million), this expanded campus reflects Mediclinic’s strong commitment to clinical excellence, advanced infrastructure, and an exceptional patient experience.

Patients will benefit from seamless access to a comprehensive range of healthcare services, from preventive and primary care to highly specialized tertiary treatments.

The integrated campus will bring together a larger network of medical experts, cutting-edge technology, upgraded operating theatres, and specialized units in oncology, cardiovascular care, surgery, musculoskeletal health, ophthalmology, and women’s health.

This multidisciplinary environment will prioritize quality, safety, and patient-centered care.

Hein van Eck, CEO of Mediclinic Middle East, explained that the decision to consolidate aligns with the Abu Dhabi Healthcare Strategic Plan and the Department of Health’s goal to provide world-class healthcare services focused on quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.

He emphasized that the consolidation will foster greater clinical collaboration and better resource allocation, ultimately leading to improved health outcomes and a superior patient experience.

While Mediclinic Al Noor Hospital has a proud history of serving generations of patients, its aging infrastructure limits its ability to evolve in line with Mediclinic’s vision for advanced care and modern facilities.

The consolidation allows Mediclinic to build on Al Noor’s trusted legacy while delivering enhanced services in a purpose-built, internationally accredited facility.

Van Eck also highlighted the careful and compassionate approach Mediclinic is taking during this transition.

“Every patient, staff member, and partner at Al Noor is important to us. We are committed to clear communication and personalized support to ensure a smooth and respectful transition,” he said.

He expressed gratitude to all those who have been part of Mediclinic Al Noor’s journey and reassured that its legacy will continue proudly in the new chapter at Airport Road.

Mediclinic remains a trusted partner of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and is dedicated to supporting the government’s vision for accessible, high-quality, and integrated healthcare.

This consolidation represents a forward-thinking investment in clinical innovation, long-term value, and the wellbeing of the community.

The spirit and legacy of Mediclinic Al Noor Hospital will live on stronger than ever in this modern, unified medical campus.
