USA- GE Healthcare has introduced its next-generation Definium 656 HD X-ray system intended to serve as a “personal assistant” for radiologists and technologists.
The Chicago-based GE Healthcare’s latest generation of its overhead tube suspension (OTS) system, leads its portfolio of fixed X-ray products as the most advanced fixed system yet, according to the release.

The Definium 656 HD, featuring the Intelligent Workflow Suite, is a versatile, digital radiographic system powered by GE’s FlashPad HD high-resolution detectors and the latest Helix 2.2 advanced image processing software.
The system is combined with the highest levels of motorization, automation, assistive intelligence and advanced applications with the fastest movement and highest weight capacity.
It will help technologists deliver consistent, efficient, and highly automated imaging exams that will impart clinical confidence across the radiology department.
Additionally, it will improve the overall patient experience by keeping workflow control in the room for healthcare providers.
It comes with high-quality detectors, advanced applications, and AI-driven image processing to reduce variability and provide optimal image quality.
This will enable radiologists to make clinical decisions with confidence and to address “repeat and reject” rates that can negatively impact day-to-day clinical operations.
