INDIA – Merck Specialities Private Limited, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Merck KGaA, has appointed the current General Manager & Managing Director Pratima Reddy to the additional role of Country Speaker.
Currently, Pratima Reddy leads healthcare strategy and operations in India as General Manager & Managing Director of Merck Specialities Private Limited.
Dr. Sreenath NS, who will step down as Country Speaker after a brief transition period, will be succeeded by Pratima Reddy.
He played a key role in sponsoring the implementation of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) initiatives and actively sponsoring and advocating corporate social responsibility (CSR) in India.
“We laud the outgoing country speaker Dr. Sreenath NS for showing a deep commitment to our goals,” Merck Specialities India said in an official statement.
Moreover, Merck Specialities Private Limited has maintained Dr. Sreenath as head of the company’s Shared Business Services (SBS) to scale it to new heights.
Merck Specialities Private Limited is the manufacturer and marketer of Merck Group, branded and commonly known as Merck.
The Merck Group is a German multinational science and technology company headquartered in Darmstadt, with about 60,000 employees and it is present in 66 countries.
The Mumbai-based science and technology company supplies the Indian market with high-quality pharmaceutical and chemical products.
Merck Specialities India’s MD Pratima Reddy takes on the additional role of Country Speaker as the science and technology company is gearing up for its next growth phase.
“In her current role, Pratima continues to demonstrate focused leadership to drive positive business outcomes through inclusive and strategic thinking and collaborative execution,” outlined Merck.
Since joining Merck in October 2013, Pratima has held several significant leadership positions across multiple functions in local and global teams.
She also served as the Regional Franchise Leader (RFL) of the cardiovascular, metabolism, and endocrinology (CM&E) franchise in APAC.
Commenting on this elevation, Pratima Reddy said: “It is an honour for me to represent Merck India as its country speaker. I am passionately committed to upholding and further building on the Merck brand and fostering strong industry relations within the country.”
Merck India’s incoming country speaker Pratima expressed her willingness to collaborate with leaders across the company’s businesses to build on Merck India’s success.
