BANGLADESH – Milvik Bima, a Swedish fintech and health company, has launched its mobile health app in Bangladesh, Mobihealth reports.

The Milvik Health+ app, according to a press release, combines payment tools and e-commerce for healthcare.

It also includes telehealth features that allow users to communicate with their doctors as well as keep track of their appointments and follow-up calls. They can also use the app to access their medical history.

Users can also accumulate health points with each in-app payment of their health subscriptions. These points can be used to purchase healthcare products such as medications, medical equipment, health and fitness wearables, oral and eye care products, and nutritional supplements.

Furthermore, the app allows users to manage their health subscriptions with flexible payment options and the ability to update family member information. They can also keep track of their health-care savings.

Milvik Bima, which was founded in 2010, provides telemedicine, specialist care, health screening, personalized health programs, medicine delivery, laboratory testing, and insurance.

In 2012, the company made its first foray into Bangladesh. It also has operations in eight other Asian and African countries.

According to Reynold D’Silva, Milvik Bima’s global chief growth officer and managing director for Asia, integrating fintech into digital health will help close the healthcare access gap in Bangladesh.

Milvik Bangladesh will be able to offer a wide range of healthcare benefits to customers and make healthcare access more accessible with the addition of a health wallet feature to the Milvik Health+ app, according to Country Manager Ankur Basu.

Meanwhile, the company is exploring public-private funding opportunities with its implementation partner, ACCESS Health International.
