UAE – Mubadala Health, the integrated healthcare network of world-class healthcare facilities, has selected Oracle as its electronic health record (EHR) partner.

Mubadala Health will utilize Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) via the Oracle Cloud Dubai Region to run its Oracle Cerner electronic health records system.

By running Oracle Health’s EHR on OCI, the network will also have the scalability to accommodate additional locations including Mubadala Health Dubai and Imperial College London Diabetes Centre.

In an official note, Khalid Al Amadi, Senior Director of Informatics and Integration at Mubadala Health said: “With the speed and scalability of OCI, Mubadala Health will have faster access to patient care data for thousands of clinicians and staff personnel.”

The system integration will allow Mubadala Health to accelerate innovation and improve the efficiency of electronic health records across its integrated healthcare network.

This move will help Mubadala Health to drive new advancements that will cover computing, storage, networking, database, analytics, and mobile services thus increasing service level protection.

The upgrades will also help to decrease the amount of money spent on hardware upgrades, storage, servers, and licenses as well as proactive monitoring and management of the healthcare system.

With OCI, Mubadala Health will be in a better position to manage its growing patient volumes, help reduce operational costs, and provide clinicians with better access to information to help improve care.

This milestone agreement is another step in our digital transformation journey and will allow for exponential improvements in the way care is provided to the community,” underscored Al Amadi.

Once the implementation of Oracle Health’s EHR on OCI is complete, all Mubadala facilities will utilize the integrated system.

The implementation is expected to complement Mubadala Health’s efforts to adopt new innovations, expand its healthcare offerings to patients and grow partnerships in the region.

This platform will permit new care delivery approaches that require real-time coordination and information exchange among multiple providers, patients, and locations in the country.

Moreover, the strategic alliance with Oracle Health builds on Mubadala Health’s vision to be at the forefront of a new era of healthcare system interoperability.

Healthcare system interoperability is expected to enhance clinical experiences, accelerate cutting-edge innovations, and ultimately help to advance patient health outcomes,” noted Al Amadi.

Additionally, the unified system will create more seamless access to patient records for healthcare providers thus helping to improve outcomes, saving time, and reducing costs incurred.

The integrated system is expected to support more than 10,000 concurrent users, which is double the current amount, to help boost operational and financial efficiency.
