INDIA – Narayana Health has joined forces with Garuda Aerospace to leverage the latter’s drone technology in transporting biomedical samples to its hospital network in India.

Garuda Aerospace and Narayana Health, one of India’s leading healthcare providers, have teamed to transport bio-medical samples using ‘Sanjeevani’ drones.

The joint statement said: “The partnership aims to revolutionize the delivery of critical and emergency medical supplies including samples for diagnosis in times of challenging conditions.”

In the pilot phase, Garuda Aerospace and Narayana Health will deploy drones in Bengaluru to transfer biomedical samples from Narayana Health City and HSR Layout on a daily basis.

It is expected that the two allies will expand the scope of healthcare delivery in the next 12 months to include Narayana Health’s hospital network in India.

The partnership aligns with Narayana Health’s ambitious goal to make quality healthcare accessible to all patients through its network of 21 hospitals and 4 heart centres across 13 cities in India.

On his part, Dr. Devi Shetty, Chairman and Executive Director of Narayana Health, underscored that the use of drones to transport biomedical samples is a critical step in achieving its ambitious goal of delivering the best possible care to its patients.

Garuda Aerospace’s technology and expertise in the health sector will allow Narayana Health to transport biomedical samples quickly and easily at any time thus ensuring patients receive timely diagnoses and treatments.

The use of drones in the healthcare industry has proven to be a game changer, saving valuable time and improving patient outcomes, the companies claimed.

In addition to the delivery of medical samples, Garuda Aerospace and Narayana Health will collaborate to provide timely and efficient medical delivery services to remote and underserved areas in India.
