NBK-Egypt renews commitment to breast cancer care

EGYPT—NBK-Egypt, a subsidiary of the National Bank of Kuwait, has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting healthcare by signing a cooperation protocol with the Baheya Foundation for Early Detection and Treatment of Breast Cancer for the fourth time.

This new agreement, which was formalized in Sheikh Zayed City, will help provide vital equipment for Baheya’s new hospital branch.

NBK-Egypt has been a steadfast partner of the Baheya Foundation since 2018, consistently extending its support to enhance breast cancer treatment services.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Walid El-Seyoufi, Deputy Managing Director at NBK-Egypt, and Dr. Jaylan Ahmed, CEO of Baheya Foundation.

 Several key figures from both organisations, including Mr. Karim Kamal, Head of Support Functions, Sustainability and Sustainable Finance at NBK-Egypt, and Mrs. Noran Abdul-Rahman, Head of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Unit, also attended the signing ceremony.

During his speech, Mr. El-Seyoufi emphasized the bank’s dedication to social responsibility, a core element of its strategy to contribute to sustainable development.

He noted that NBK-Egypt remains committed to playing a leading role in supporting Egypt’s healthcare system, aligning itself with Egypt’s Vision 2030 goals.

 This national vision aims to elevate the standard of healthcare services nationwide.

According to El-Seyoufi, the bank seeks to enhance healthcare infrastructure and ensure access to high-quality medical services for all segments of society.

Furthermore, El-Seyoufi highlighted NBK-Egypt’s long history of humanitarian and social initiatives, pointing to its active role in community service.

He highlighted that social responsibility is deeply embedded in the bank’s operations, as evidenced by its numerous partnerships and protocols with institutions across various sectors, particularly in healthcare.

He also stressed the importance of these collaborations in building a strong, healthy, and productive society.

On her part, Dr. Jaylan Ahmed expressed her gratitude for NBK-Egypt’s unwavering support in equipping the new hospital branch.

She praised the bank for its consistent efforts to help the foundation deliver high-quality healthcare services that benefit all members of society.

 She also conveyed hope for continued cooperation with NBK-Egypt, recognizing the bank as a prestigious and trusted partner in healthcare development.

In addition to its partnership with the Baheya Foundation, NBK-Egypt regularly organizes various healthcare-focused initiatives.

 These include blood donation campaigns, disease prevention workshops, and the distribution of medical supplies.

The bank’s wide-ranging efforts are further supported by its strategic collaborations with healthcare centers and institutions, which allow it to provide state-of-the-art medical equipment where needed.

NBK-Egypt’s commitment to social responsibility extends across its wide network of 53 branches, which are strategically located in key regions across Egypt, including Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, and Upper Egypt.

 Furthermore, the bank offers both Islamic and conventional banking services, enhancing its accessibility to a broader range of customers.

It also operates a large network of ATMs nationwide, ensuring convenient access to banking services for its clients around the clock.
