UAE – Danat Al Emarat Hospital, a world-class specialty women and children’s hospital located in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, has expanded access to care for kids with the opening of its new pediatric long-term care unit.

Danat Al Emarat Hospital has bolstered its medical capacity to ensure UAE’s patients and their families can continue their health journey with access to multi-disciplinary pediatric care – all under one roof.

Mubadala partners, Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children and Amana Healthcare, joined forces to accelerate the process of establishing this department for long-term acute services for complex medical conditions.

In an official note, the hospital informed: “The new pediatric unit will use an integrated care model that allows for greater coordination and lowered risk of infection for ventilated patients being transferred between the intensive care unit and the long-term ventilation unit.”

As an expansion of Amana Healthcare’s existing pediatric facilities, the collaboration with Danat Al Emarat Hospital helps the two partners join forces to deliver high-quality pediatric care.

To increase access to specialized services, the new pediatric long-term care unit at Danat Al Emarat Hospital will provide round-the-clock care in a child-friendly atmosphere.

The dignified, serene environment will allow children in need of long-term acute services to recover in a home-like setting with intensive care-level capabilities.

The hospital unit will offer residents access to high-quality care and medical case management for neonatal and pediatric patients through bedside services.

These services include X-rays, developmental checks, and care interventions in different medical specialties such as cardiology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, and pulmonology.

Moreover, the pediatric unit’s staff will work together with healthcare professionals at the Amana Healthcare Long-Term Care Pediatrics Unit located at the Danat Al Emarat Hospital.

The Abu Dhabi-based facility will leverage Amana Healthcare’s extensive knowledge and expertise in providing long-term care, inpatient rehabilitation, and home care services.
