UAE—NMC Healthcare Group, a leading private healthcare provider in the UAE, has announced plans to sell its 65% stake in Fakih IVF Fertility Centre to Blue Ocean Health Group.
This legally binding agreement is part of NMC’s broader strategy to strengthen its core healthcare services.
The transaction, which is subject to standard regulatory approvals, is expected to be finalized within the next two months.
However, the financial terms have not been disclosed. Once the deal is completed, Blue Ocean Health Group will gain full ownership of Fakih IVF.
This move aligns with NMC Healthcare’s long-term growth plan, which focuses on expanding its multi-specialty healthcare services across Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
The proceeds from the sale will be reinvested into upcoming projects, including the launch of four new medical facilities this year.
Among these is a pediatric medical center in Dubai Marina, one of the city’s busiest neighborhoods, and a multi-specialty medical center in Palm Jumeirah, set to open this summer.
Commenting on the transaction, David Hadley, CEO of NMC Healthcare, emphasized that the group’s main goal is to offer personalized, high-quality, and accessible healthcare services to communities across the UAE.
He explained that selling Fakih IVF allows them to focus on enhancing secondary and tertiary care services, as well as investing in new clinical facilities in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
He also acknowledged Fakih IVF and Blue Ocean Health Group as valuable partners and expressed confidence in their ability to advance regional fertility services.
Fakih IVF, a market leader in fertility treatment in the GCC region, sees this acquisition as a significant step toward expanding its presence and services.
Dr. Michael Fakih, Executive Chairman of Blue Ocean Health Group and Founder of Fakih IVF, described the acquisition as an exciting new chapter.
He noted that having Fakih IVF fully under Blue Ocean Health Group will allow them to enhance fertility services, expand their reach, and invest in innovation.
Dr. Fakih further outlined ambitious expansion plans, including increasing the number of clinics, upgrading existing facilities, and introducing new medical services.
Additionally, he emphasized a strong commitment to scientific research and advanced training programs to improve fertility treatments.
He also expressed gratitude to NMC Healthcare for their collaboration over the years and looked forward to building on the foundation they had established together.
Since its establishment in 1975, NMC Healthcare has grown into one of the largest private healthcare providers in the UAE, serving over 5.5 million patients annually.
With a network of 78 hospitals and medical facilities, it is uniquely positioned to provide healthcare services across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and the Northern Emirates, including Ras Al Khaimah and Ajman.
