OMAN —Oman’s Ministry of Health (MoH) has inked a large financial agreement to enhance the Department of Blood Bank Services in Bausher.
This deal was reached with the project’s funders, represented by the heirs of the late Mohammed Jumaa al Lawati, and represents a significant step forward in improving healthcare services in the region.
Dr. Badriya Mohsen al Rashidi, Director General of Health Services and Programmes of the Ministry of Health, and Ali Mohammed al Lawati, the heirs’ legal agent, signed the agreement.
The Ministry’s partnership with the heirs demonstrates a common commitment to enhance public health infrastructure and services.
The enlargement project is intended to improve the quality and efficiency of the Department of Blood Bank Services’ health-care services.
Specifically, it aims to raise the number of beneficiaries and improve the facility’s operational capabilities.
By doing so, the program will meet the region’s expanding need for blood bank services, allowing more individuals to benefit from timely and efficient blood donations and related services.
The new facility will be a two-story structure of cutting-edge design. It will include a spacious receiving area especially for blood donors, as well as automated registration tools to help with the donation procedure.
The building will also have facilities for haemoglobin testing and platelet donations, ensuring that all necessary tests and procedures may be completed on-site.
The facility will have two waiting spaces and a meeting hall to improve donor comfort and convenience.
In addition, new workspaces will be built to meet the growing operational demands, and modern technological services will be incorporated to improve overall efficiency.
Construction on the new facility is planned to begin in November, with a completion duration of around 18 months.
Once finished, the expanded Department of Blood Banks Services would greatly strengthen the region’s healthcare infrastructure, offering critical services to a bigger population.
This program not only meets the Department of Blood Banks Services’ current demands but also provides the foundation for future developments in Oman’s healthcare system.
The successors of Mohammed Jumaa al Lawati’s support highlight the need for community participation in improving public health care.
