SAUDI ARABIA – Procter & Gamble Health has launched its ‘Put Life Back in Your Hands’ campaign in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as part of the company’s goal of raising awareness of peripheral neuropathy.
As part of the Saudi-focused awareness campaign, P&G Health has joined forces with 37 hospitals and pharmacies across the Kingdom to promote the importance of early detection and seeking timely medical attention.
P&G Health has set up healthcare kiosks at the participating hospitals and pharmacies for ‘Touch Tests’ to help people understand neuropathy and its symptoms and the benefits of early detection and intervention.
In a press release, Tarek Abdelaziz, General Manager at P&G Health said: “We are thankful to the hospitals and pharmacies collaborating with us in this collective effort towards neuropathy awareness.”
Headquartered in Mumbai, P&G Health is a subsidiary of Procter & Gamble Overseas India BV, a manufacturer and marketer of pharmaceutical products.
The company’s product portfolio comprises over-the-counter products, minerals, vitamins, and supplements products for an improved quality of life and healthy lifestyle.
The healthcare division of Procter & Gamble markets its products under the Neurobion, Polybion, Cosome, Evion, Livogen, Nasivion, and Seven Seas brand names.
Neurobion, “the nerve care” expert brand of P&G Health, is usually recommended for use in treating B vitamin deficiencies including their possible neurological symptoms, and peripheral neuropathy symptoms.
As a result, raising awareness about the causes of peripheral neuropathy and spreading evidence-based information about early symptom identification is critical to saving more lives.
Procter & Gamble Health’s ‘Put Life Back in Your Hands’ campaign was rolled out during Neuropathy Awareness Week 2023, a week-long initiative spreading awareness for this devastating condition.
The objective of this campaign is also to provide doctor-approved information about symptoms, causes, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of peripheral neuropathy.
It is part of Procter & Gamble Health’s efforts to tackle this chronic clinical condition which progressively damages the peripheral nervous system.
Commenting on this initiative, Dr. Shady Almasry, Deputy of Medical Director for the Medical Department, and Consultant of Internal Medicine, Endocrinology & Diabetes at GNP Hospital in Jeddah, said: “Peripheral Neuropathy is often underestimated and diagnosed late, making it difficult for patients to receive proper treatment.”
Dr. Shady Almasry underscored that Saudi healthcare facilities will work closely with P&G Health in line with their shared commitment to educating both consumers and healthcare professionals about peripheral neuropathy.
“In collaboration with P&G Health, we hope to improve awareness of peripheral neuropathy, promote early diagnosis and treatment, and ultimately, improve healthcare outcomes,” stated Dr. Almasry.
What’s more, Procter & Gamble Health intends to roll out its ‘Put Life Back in Your Hands’ campaign across 18 countries in Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa.
