NETHERLANDS — Royal Philips, a Dutch health technology company, has partnered with Candid Care, a US-based dental equipment manufacturer, to advance orthodontic care solutions.
Candid Care’s CandidPro orthodontic platform provides convenient clear aligners, and Philips sells Sonicare electric toothbrushes in the United States.
The collaboration aims to provide dental professionals with a comprehensive oral healthcare offering that includes orthodontic treatments as well as teeth whitening.
It will draw on Philips Sonicare’s more than three decades of experience, dental professional network, knowledge, and resources.
This partnership has come at a time when the Dutch company announced it is cutting 6,000 jobs worldwide.
With Philips’ assistance, CandidPro is able to build its professional network and service platform.
The two companies will collaborate on education initiatives centered on total oral care, which will include orthodontics, periodontics, restorative and functional care, and aesthetic care.
Philips said that its Sonicare brand has in-depth clinical knowledge, and a wide-ranging oral care offering, with a strong network of dental professionals.
Its latest power toothbrush, the Philips Sonicare 9900 Prestige leverages personalized human-led technology to provide best results to its users.
Candid Care’s total orthodontic system enables the doctors to have more control in treating patients with clear aligners, and offers a white-glove support.
The company’s AI-powered CandidMonitoring technology helps doctors and patients to benefit from CandidPro’s clinical support and treatment approach.
Together, Philips Sonicare and CandidPro will enable dental practitioners to provide their patients with straight, clean, and healthy smiles through an integrated care journey.
By 2030, the global orthodontics market is expected to reach a value of around US$4.3 billion, compared to its 2019 value of US$1.9 billion, according to market research company Next Move Strategy Consulting.
Other key developments in the orthodontics space include the introduction of SureSmile VPro, SureSmile Retainers, and SureSmile Whitening Kit as part of its clear aligner treatment offerings in the U.S by Dentsply Sirona in March 2022.
In the same year, Dentsply Sirona announced its partnership with Dental Medical Ireland (DMI), an Irish distributor to boost the sales of its product SureSmile clear aligners.
Further to that, Align Technology, Inc. expanded its geographical presence in Israel with an aim to increase its brand presence as well as widen the customer base.
Institut Straumann AG announced the acquisition of PlusDental, a doctor-led clear-aligner treatment solutions provider in Europe.
