INDIA – India’s surgery care startup Pristyn Care, through its online health consultation platform Lybrate, has ventured into the preventive healthcare space with the launch of its new Shield360.

This comes as Pristyn Care announced its entry into fully automatic robotic-assisted total knee replacement surgeries in Pune.

Pristyn Care’s Lybrate Shield360 will offer preventive healthcare solutions through its affordable and comprehensive health insurance coverage options including an individual health plan and a family basic plan.

Lybrate, the primary consultation platform of Pristyn Care, aims to bring in 500,000 Indians into its health insurance covers by the end of 2023, targeting more adoption in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.

In a press release, the Indian startup stated: “An individual health plan can be availed at a starting price of INR799 (approx. US$10), saving up to INR 5,000(approx. US$61). For the Family basic plan, one can opt for a plan at a starting price of INR 999(approx. US$12), saving up to INR 10,000(approx. US$122).”

To close the gaps in the Indian medical diagnostics sector, Lybrate Shield360 seeks to provide comprehensive solutions catering to all aspects of preventive healthcare under one platform in the highly fragmented market.

Patients can book lab tests and doctor and surgeon appointments through Lybrate’s app and website,” the surgical care firm confirmed.

Pristyn Care has forayed into the preventive healthcare segment with Lybrate Shield360 to reduce healthcare costs and improve patient health outcomes.

This recent development comes as Pristyn Care plans to expand into in-vitro fertilization (IVF), ophthalmology, urology, and hair transplant divisions.

The digital health unicorn intends to expand its existing network of over 800 fully-operative secondary surgery care centres and enter into primary care via digital and online consultation services.

Lybrate Shield360 provides lab tests at your doorstep, accurate reports by NABL-ISO certified labs, unlimited cashless OPDs with top doctors, consultations with surgeons, free consultation with dieticians, and access to mental health specialists,” claimed Pristyn Care.

Moreover, this news comes as India’s preventive healthcare sector is expected to reach US$197 billion by 2025.

Commenting on the new investment, Harsimarbir Singh, Co-founder at Pristyn Care underscored: “We believe everyone deserves quality healthcare services at affordable prices. The objective behind launching Shield360 is to promote preventive healthcare in the country. “

He observed that individuals cannot consult with doctors based on their lab test reports on a single platform following their visits to various diagnostic testing centers, noting that Lybrate Shield360 offers health insurance that covers the cost of outpatient care.

Singh further noticed that the most common tests opted for in India are Complete Blood Count (CBC) Tests, Kidney Function Tests (KFT), Liver Function Tests (LFT), Random Blood Sugar (RBS) Tests, and Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH) Test.

With low numbers of health cover penetration in India, especially in a price-sensitive market, Shield360 is an alternative to cashless OPD coverage,” stated the Pristyn Care Co-founder.

Furthermore, he underscored that Pristyn Care’s Lybrate Shield360 will help many Indians to maximize their savings while promoting the adoption of preventive health check-ups in the country.
