UAE—PureHealth, the largest healthcare group in the Middle East, and its subsidiary SEHA have announced a major partnership with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, ranked as the number one children’s hospital in the United States.
This collaboration, centered at SEHA’s Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) in Abu Dhabi, aims to deliver world-class pediatric care and expertise to children and families across the UAE and the wider region.
This partnership marks a significant milestone in Abu Dhabi’s ambition to become a global leader in advanced pediatric medicine.
By joining forces, SEHA SKMC and Cincinnati Children’s will work together to embed international best practices across key pediatric specialties, such as cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, oncology, and transplant medicine.
The initiative is designed not only to raise the standard of care but also to foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and improvement within the local healthcare system.
The agreement was formalized during Abu Dhabi Global Health Week 2025, witnessed by senior officials including His Excellency Mansoor Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, and Shaista Asif, Group CEO of PureHealth.
The signing underscores the UAE’s commitment to providing specialized healthcare services that enable the community to enjoy healthier, longer lives.
According to His Excellency Al Mansoori, this partnership highlights the depth of cooperation between the UAE and leading healthcare institutions in the United States, reflecting a shared vision to improve health outcomes for children everywhere.
Shaista Asif emphasized that PureHealth is dedicated to leading partnerships that transform lives and reduce the need for families to seek treatment abroad.
By leveraging the expertise of both SEHA SKMC and Cincinnati Children’s, the collaboration aims to strengthen the region’s position as a hub for pediatric medicine, drive innovation, and deliver exceptional outcomes for children and their families.
Steve Davis, President and CEO of Cincinnati Children’s, highlighted the hospital’s longstanding commitment to improving child health through collaborative, “all-teach, all-learn” partnerships.
He expressed excitement about the prospects of working with SEHA SKMC to establish a world-class Pediatric Centre of Excellence in Abu Dhabi, benefiting children in the UAE, the region, and even back in Cincinnati.
The newly established Pediatric Centre of Excellence at SEHA SKMC is already making a significant impact by providing advanced, specialized care within Abu Dhabi.
This reduces the need for overseas travel and ensures that families can access top-tier treatment close to home.
The partnership goes beyond treating individual cases-it aims to reshape care models, develop integrated patient pathways, and pilot innovative protocols with the goal of achieving lasting, system-wide improvements in pediatric healthcare.
