UAE – PureHealth has been awarded a contract to operate and manage the National Rehabilitation Center (NRC), an addiction treatment facility based in the Emirates of Abu Dhabi.
Under the agreement, PureHealth will integrate the National Rehabilitation Center into its operations with an aim to transform the delivery of rehabilitation services in Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates.
NRC’s efforts in combating addiction and psychotropic substances and raising awareness of their dangers have reached very advanced levels, comparable to the most prestigious international institutions.
The National Rehabilitation Center becomes the newest member of PureHealth’s network of healthcare facilities across Abu Dhabi and the Northern Emirates.
In a press release, Shaista Asif, Group Chief Operating Officer of PureHealth, stated: “Through our comprehensive approach, strategic collaborations, and dedication to research and innovation, we are committed to making a lasting positive impact on individuals and the wider community.”
The NRC is gearing up to assume vital responsibilities of coordinating with centers-both governmental and non-governmental agencies dedicated to rehabilitation.
At a strategic level, the National Rehabilitation Center will take over the responsibility of establishing the overall national strategy for addiction treatment.
The NRC will establish a dedicated research and training center after fully integrating into PureHealth’s operations.
This NRC-led facility will serve as a hub for conducting studies, research, infrastructure development, and issuing professional qualifications in the field of rehabilitation.
Additionally, the NRC will organize seminars, conferences, workshops, and training courses, and disseminate knowledge to healthcare professionals.
The NRC will also deepen its focus on increasing the outpatient timings of its clinic, developing a better patient experience, and creating digital platforms to better serve the patients’ requirements.
“With the NRC, PureHealth expands its platform, offering comprehensive and holistic healthcare solutions to the region,” said Shaista Asif.
PureHealth assumes full management responsibility for NRC as the group continues to explore investment opportunities to drive better and patient-focused rehabilitation services in the region.
The operational changes come after the NRC was designated as a prestigious World Health Organisation Collaborative Centre for Substance Use Prevention and Treatment of Substance Use Disorders.
As a result, the NRC joined the International Technology Transfer Centre (ITTC) network, making it the only entity from the region to become part of this network.
The NRC works to establish social and integration services for addiction patients, conducts community awareness sessions, and empowers students as addiction prevention ambassadors in their communities through school programs.
On his part, Yousef Al Ketbi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of NRC, said: “At the National Rehabilitation Center, our vision is to be a beacon of hope and excellence, leading the way in rehabilitation and research in the United Arab Emirates.”
By assuming management of the center, PureHealth will shape and reestablish NRC’s treatment programs to incorporate the latest technologies and treatment regimes.
PureHealth will provide NRC with the expertise of a large integrated healthcare platform, helping to expand its capacity, enhance access to care, and optimize the quality and performance of the center.
Under this integration, the group will expand patients’ access to specialized treatment and rehabilitation services along with community development, awareness, and prevention programs.
Hence, the transfer of management to PureHealth aligns with NRC’s commitment to a 360-degree approach that ensures a holistic effort in combating addiction and promoting well-being across society.
Commenting on the integration with PureHealth, Yousef Al Ketbi asserted: “Together, we look forward to redefining the landscape of rehabilitation services in Abu Dhabi and the UAE, forging a brighter future for those in need of treatment and rehabilitation.”
