UAE—PureHealth, the largest healthcare group in the Middle East, has reported a remarkable increase in the use of Pura, its AI-powered app, since its initial launch in October 2023.

With over 140,000 downloads to date, the app is designed to enhance the quality of life and longevity by providing users with personalized health data and actionable insights through user-friendly tools.

Pura serves as a groundbreaking personal health companion, enabling individuals to take charge of their health.

The app’s innovative features have resonated strongly with users, particularly in Abu Dhabi, where there is growing interest in adopting health and wellness technologies.

In response to user demand, Pura has introduced a specialized diabetes care module, which simplifies diabetes management by offering real-time glucose tracking and personalized meal planning.

The diabetes module seamlessly integrates with selected continuous glucose monitoring devices and connects to PureHealth’s Diabetes Command Centre.

This allows healthcare providers to securely access patient data, ensuring better visibility and confidence in diabetes management.

Notably, Pura is the only app in the UAE connected to a physical healthcare network, making it a unique and comprehensive solution for diabetes patients.

Beyond diabetes care, Pura can connect to various wearable devices, collecting real-time data on metrics like blood glucose levels, heart health, and sleep quality.

The app also features PureScore, the region’s first evidence-based health scoring system, which encourages users to make informed choices to improve their fitness and overall wellbeing.

Gamification elements, such as challenges that reward users with *FitCoins*, have further increased engagement.

These FitCoins can be redeemed for lifestyle benefits, and to date, over 5.7 million FitCoins have been redeemed.

Approximately 65% of users actively participate in challenges created by the app and the Active Abu Dhabi initiative.

Pura also streamlines the patient experience by integrating with PureHealth’s network of hospitals and clinics.

Through the app, users can manage their healthcare journey, from booking teleconsultations and in-person appointments to arranging home medicine deliveries and routine tests.

Payment options include both insurance and self-pay, with a convenient subscription model available for diabetes patients.

In future, Pura plans to expand its offerings, such as home sample collection for routine tests and other tools to enhance healthcare accessibility.

Shaista Asif, Group CEO of PureHealth, emphasized the group’s mission to add 25 years of higher-quality living to the UAE’s average life expectancy over the next 50 years.

She highlighted that Pura empowers individuals by giving them access to their personal health data, allowing them to proactively improve their wellbeing.

“Pura is not just about tracking health journeys but taking control of them,” she stated, adding that PureHealth continues to invest in digital healthcare solutions to help communities lead healthier lives.
