Qassim Health Cluster plans to construct airstrips within multiple hospitals

SAUDI ARABIA – The Qassim Health Cluster intends to undertake the construction of airstrips within several hospitals to provide comprehensive air medical transport services in the Al-Qassim Province.

The Health Cluster is an integrated network of healthcare providers under one administrative structure serving millions of people and allowing the mobility of medical professionals within the health clusters system.

It is worth highlighting that the Health Cluster in Qassim has been ranked first for its performance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Qassim Health Cluster has embarked on the construction of airstrips as it seeks to ensure that patients can be transported across the region safely and efficiently.

So far, eleven hospitals in the region have completed the construction of airstrips, including King Fahd Specialist Hospital in Buraidah, Buraidah Central Hospital, Al Rass Hospital, Almoznab Hospital, and Al Quwarah Hospital.

Plans are underway for new airstrips for four additional hospitals, namely King Saud Hospital in Unaizah, Qbah Hospital, Al Nabhaniyah Hospital, and AlAsyah Hospital.

The airstrip construction project will be implemented in cooperation with the General Directorate of Health Affairs in the Al-Qassim Province.

In line with the strategic objectives of the Ministry of Health, the project will not only deliver the highest levels of quality and efficiency but also establish an optimal professional environment for healthcare service providers within the health sector.

It is poised to create a lasting impact on qualitative and sustainable initiatives in the health sector for the benefit of the community at all levels.

This project is part of the emergency medical services development initiatives that ensure rapid transport and prompt aid to patients from peripheral hospitals to reference hospitals and specialized medical centers in the region.

Additionally, it builds on the significant progress since the launch of the Health Sector Transformation programme under the Saudi Vision 2030.

This development follows shortly after the blood donation campaign “Donating Blood for Pilgrims”, launched by the Qassim Health Cluster, collected 382 units of different blood groups.

The two-week-long Donating Blood for Pilgrims campaign was held at several public and private sector departments in the Al-Qassim Province.

According to the Qassim Health Cluster, the campaign was organized with the aim of increasing the stocks at blood banks in Makkah’s hospitals and medical centers during the Hajj season.
