SAUDI ARABIA – Red Sea Global (RSG), the developer of The Red Sea and AMAALA megaprojects, has announced that the Ministry of Health (MOH) has approved the designs for the Turtle Bay Hospital, allowing construction to commence.
The construction contract for the new hospital, a testament to our collective effort, has been awarded to Abdullah Saeed Alsayed & Partners Contracting Company, who will mobilize on-site imminently.
The Turtle Bay Hospital is the first project funded by the Saudi Sovereign Public Investment Fund (PIF) to receive MOH architectural approval.
The Red Sea’s Turtle Bay area hospital will provide healthcare to the 1.5 million square meter waterfront site’s residents and visitors.
The first phase of resorts at the Red Sea destination is expected to be completed next year, and the hospital will cater to the approximately 300,000 anticipated guests annually.
“Securing this approval is a momentous occasion for our team who are working tirelessly to ensure that first-class healthcare is available at The Red Sea.
”Our vision for Turtle Bay Hospital to be a state-of-the-art facility is part of our broader ambitions to deliver a robust healthcare ecosystem for our growing project portfolio,” said Nicholas King, Group Chief Development Officer at Red Sea Global.
The operator contract for the hospital was awarded in early 2022 to StewardAlf Global Healthcare Company, a joint venture between Alf Healthcare and Steward Health Care International.
The medical equipment contract was also awarded earlier this year to AlfHealthcare.
In addition to the Turtle Bay Hospital, RSG has also received MOH approval for the Red Sea International Airport Clinic architecture plans.
Construction of the urgent care clinic is already over 60% complete and on track to be fully operational by December 2024.
Meanwhile, construction has also commenced on a hospital within the Staff Village at AMAALA, with the contract awarded to the same construction company.
Upon full completion in 2030, The Red Sea will comprise 50 resorts, offering up to 8,000 hotel rooms and more than 1,000 residential properties across 22 islands and six inland sites.
The destination will also include luxury marinas, golf courses, entertainment, F&B, and leisure facilities.
