KENYA—Revital Healthcare (EPZ) Ltd in Kenya has entered into a new partnership with Meril Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd. (Meril), a collaboration aimed at enhancing the fight against malaria across Africa.

This partnership focuses on contract manufacturing of Meril’s Malaria Pf (HRP II) Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT), which is a product prequalified by the World Health Organization (WHO) and known worldwide for its reliability and accuracy in malaria detection.

Under this agreement, Revital Healthcare will take on the responsibility of producing Meril’s malaria diagnostic tests locally.

By doing so, the companies plan to increase the availability of crucial diagnostic tools within African communities, especially at the primary healthcare level where timely and accurate malaria diagnosis is most needed.

Meril brings its deep expertise in diagnostic technology, while Revital contributes strong manufacturing capabilities based in Kenya, combining their strengths to address a major health challenge.

The local manufacturing of these RDTs is expected to improve accessibility for health workers and patients alike by reducing reliance on imported diagnostic products.

Producing these tests within the region will also help lower costs, making these essential diagnostic kits more affordable for health systems and communities.

This should support frontline healthcare providers as they work to quickly identify and treat malaria cases, ultimately aiming to save lives and reduce disease spread.

By partnering, Revital Healthcare and Meril hope to build greater capacity within the African medical manufacturing sector.

This approach promotes regional health security by ensuring that quality diagnostic tools are produced close to where they are most needed.

It also aligns with ongoing efforts across Africa to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and encourage self-sufficiency in medical supplies.

The Malaria Pf (HRP II) Rapid Diagnostic Test produced under this partnership is recognized globally for meeting stringent quality standards.

Its production in Kenya marks a significant step toward localized solutions in disease management.

This initiative can play a crucial role in expanding easier access and faster diagnosis at community healthcare centers throughout the continent.
