KUWAIT – Kuwait has hosted the 6th Pediatric Neurology Conference at the Salwa Sabah Alahmad Hall focused on essential updates in the vital specialty including diagnosis and treatment of pediatric neurology disorders.
The two-day health event was organized by Maarefah Management, a world-class events, training, and association management company, under the patronage of His Excellency Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Al Awadi with support from the Ministry of Health in Kuwait.
The conference taking place from December 14th to 15th December 2022 brought together local, regional and international speakers along with top notch experts and clinicians in the field of Pediatric Neurology.
It was a unique platform for participants to discuss advances in diagnostic and therapeutic interventions as well as ways to improve the health outcomes of the children of Kuwait living with chronic neurological diseases.
The 2022 Kuwait Pediatric Neurology Conference was also an ideal opportunity for experts to discuss developments in pediatric neurology such as Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGT) allowing couples to reproduce while avoiding risk of having offspring with an inherited fatal neurological disorder.
The event aimed to reach all segments of the medical community in concerted efforts to bolster effectiveness in dealing with chronic and hereditary neurological diseases while addressing challenges facing practitioners.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Yaqoub Altammar, Assistant Undersecretary for External Medical Services at the Kuwait Ministry of Health, said: “The Ministry of Health has exerted constant effort to develop healthcare services to meet the needs of citizens and residents in the State of Kuwait.”
He revealed that senior health ministry officials are working on vital projects to accommodate the increased demand for the healthcare sector through the expansion of health facilities, hospitals and medical centers across the country.
The officials are also building capacity for qualified healthcare professionals and necessary medications for patients, prioritizing children and newborn care, establishing specialized healthcare facilities, raising awareness about children’s diseases, and supporting medical research.
“We believe that pioneering events such as the Sixth Kuwait Paediatric Neurology Conference will provides the ideal opportunity for developing new ideas and exchanging experiences among regional and global experts,” added Dr. Altammar.
