Sanofi Egypt appoints Adrien Delamare-Deboutteville as General Manager for Pharmaceuticals in Africa

EGYPT—Sanofi Egypt, a subsidiary of the French pharmaceutical giant Sanofi, has appointed Adrien Delamare-Deboutteville as General Manager of Pharmaceuticals for Africa and Managing Director of Sanofi Egypt.

This announcement follows Adrien’s recent appointment in February 2024 as head of Sanofi’s operations across Africa.

In his new role, Adrien will continue to lead the company’s strategic direction and operations in the region, focusing on driving growth, innovation, and expanding access to healthcare solutions that benefit local communities.

As part of his responsibilities, Adrien will oversee Sanofi’s efforts to address healthcare challenges in Egypt and across Africa.

His leadership will be key to enhancing patient access to innovative treatments, promoting sustainable growth, and strengthening the company’s impact in the region.

Adrien’s vision for Sanofi is to harness the power of science to improve people’s lives, working alongside a dedicated and diverse team committed to making a positive difference.

Adrien brings over 18 years of experience in various industries, having begun his career in 2006.

He has worked with leading multinational companies such as General Electric Healthcare and PricewaterhouseCoopers in several global locations, including Paris, London, New York, Luxembourg, and Chicago.

Adrien’s journey in the pharmaceutical industry began in 2013 when he joined Sanofi, where he held several leadership positions in internal audit, business support, and strategic marketing for regions including Africa, the Middle East, Eurasia, and Southeast Asia.

In 2020, Adrien was appointed as the country Lead for Sanofi Ukraine, managing operations in Ukraine, Hungary, Poland, and the Czech Republic.

His ability to lead through challenging times was evident during his tenure, especially as he navigated complex crises in those countries.

Adrien then moved to Casablanca in 2023 to become the Country Lead of Sanofi Morocco, also overseeing Sanofi’s pharmaceutical operations in Tunisia and Libya.

Now based in Egypt with his wife and three children, Adrien has fully immersed himself in the local culture and vibrant Egyptian life since August 2024.

His diverse experience in business development, market expansion, and crisis management will play a crucial role in advancing Sanofi’s mission to improve healthcare across Africa and enhance the quality of life for its people.
