SAUDI ARABIA – The Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has joined hands with VitalAire Arabia to launch a new state-of-the-art Diabetes Center of Excellence in the region.

VitalAire Arabia aims to provide the best services and solutions for diabetes management, sleep apnea management and respiratory care to medical professionals and patients.

VitalAire Arabia wrote a press release with regards to the new Diabetes Center of Excellence, stating: “The center is expected to treat approximately 6,000 patients living with Type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1D) based on a value-based healthcare approach.”

The main goal of the Diabetes Center of Excellence is to provide high-quality health services for patients living with diabetes across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Diabetes CoE will focus on improving the patient journey and implementing a comprehensive educational program.

In addition to measuring the outcomes that matters the most to diabetic patients, the CoE will focus on developing individualized care plans to ensure the highest level of care.

In a groundbreaking move aimed at enhancing patient care and outcomes, the Saudi Ministry of Health has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with VitalAire Arabia for the latter to spearhead the establishment of the new Diabetes CoE.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health has chosen VitalAire Arabia to spearhead this project based on the commitment and expertise demonstrated by Vitalaire Arabia in the diabetes care space.

About 7 million of the population are diabetic and almost around 3 million have pre-diabetes, according to publicly available data published by the World Health Organization.

The World Health Organization reported that Saudi Arabia ranks the second highest in the Middle East, and is seventh in the world for the rate of diabetes.

Hence, the agreement between the Saudi Ministry of Health and VitalAire Arabia paves the way for the introduction of a value-based healthcare approach to diabetes care in the region.

This agreement marks a significant step in the transformation of healthcare services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in line with its ambitious Vision 2030.
